I envy the feels you'll get when you first arrive at Bionis Leg (a good few hours into the game - i.e. right at the start :D ) - it's one of those magical moments in gaming.

Thanks, 'Quake! I'm looking forward to the experience... it sounds like quite an adventure!

This is the one thing that really makes me want a new 3ds but there is no way I can justify the upgrade for one game.

Judging by this Australian advert, it looks like your version will have a grey case rather than black:

Reviews

GamesRadar – 4.5 / 5
"It may not be the best version of Xenoblade, but it’s a version of it – and that makes it a whole lot better than most."

GameSpot – 8 / 10
"While it's an inferior proposition to its initial release in 2011, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D remains superior to the majority of RPGs"

Nintendo Life – 9 / 10
"A brilliant portable version of a true classic, fans of RPGs willing to commit themselves to the task of saving Bionis shouldn't hesitate to pick this up - it is, quite simply, the biggest world we've experienced on such small screens."

Gamereactor UK – 9 / 10
"Pros: Lengthy adventure with lots of quests and things to do. A wide range of weapons and armour to choose from. Flawless soundtrack. An absolutely thrilling game.
Cons: It inherits some of the visual problems that were also present in the original game. Some sounds effects can't be heard properly unless you are using headphones."

Nintendo Insider - 9/10
"Xenoblade Chronicles 3D delivers a welcome chance to experience a game, whether for the first time or as a repeated journey, that undeniably helped to redefine the Japanese RPG genre. Whether to explore the world, experience its gripping storyline, revel in battle or all of the above, it’s a reminder of a game that will forever stand the test of time."

GameXplain: "Liked it"

GameInformer: 9/10
"Xenoblade Chronicles remains a must-play RPG. While this version doesn't do anything special to entice old fans to return, it still holds the same fun it did the first time around. Don't let it pass you by again if it did previously; this world captivates and takes hold of you like a great game should."

Thanks to Aostia @ Neo Gaf for the reviews

There's a spoilerific launch trailer at this link in case anyone is interested. It's got me excited to play this again. I had planned to go back to it when the 3DS version launched but I might give it a go tonight to refresh my memory. Of course, I'll drop it as soon as Bloodborne arrives

The port seems to have been well handled which is good given the huge scope of the game. I was surprised that it was possible to play such a thing on a Wii but to do so on a New 3DS is even more impressive.

I'LL KILL YOUUUUUUU :datass: Dunban :datass:

I haven't heard anything about frame rate issues. Kinda amazing if it runs as smooth on 3DS.
