Yep, and I do find that a bit of a joke.

In many ways this is the successor to the 3DS - in all but name/ marketing!

Would have preferred Nintendo went the full hog and gave us ultra hd screens.

It's just basically the DSi version of the 3DS.

Not really - the DSi was not more powerful than the previous DS models and did not have additional buttons from what I remember!

The machine is certainly nice, but is simply a way of Nintendo boosting their profits in the next few years whilst they figure out what they are doing on the home console front imo. Smart strategy tbh.

It was.

Fair enough, don't remember any exclusive big DSi releases though. IMO Nintendo have gone above producing a mere upgrade this time around.

Was there ever retail software that only worked on the DSi?
I vaguely remember there being some weird issue with a Sonic game being reigon locked on DSis but I don't recall ever seeing retail software only for the DSi. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo show this New 3DS only distinction to customers.

The entire DSiWare software lineup was exclusive to the DSi.

That's true, but what about full blown releases? I don't remember any, but could be wrong! Anyway, in total we can surely agree this is a bigger upgrade compared to the DS lite/ DSi one!

Would have bought it again if it was on the normal 3DS but I have it on the WII and I refuse to buy a 3rd 3DS

Do not pre order games from Amazon!

Same. I'd have been all over an HD update on WiiU. It was one of my fav games from last gen. Jealous of anyone that gets to play it for the first time.

True, it's still my favorite game and I wish I had time to play it all again! would have been a day 1 purchase for me if it was normal 3DS

hard to say: It seems likely that anything DSI specific came down as DSIware.

But since it was DSIware, there's no way to tell whether it couldn't have worked on anything else.

Good that they have faith in this game. I hope it's a good port.

Shouldn't the thread title be changed to "New 3DS" to avoid confusion/disappointment?
