I vaguely remember there being some weird issue with a Sonic game being reigon locked on DSis but I don't recall ever seeing retail software only for the DSi. It'll be interesting to see how Nintendo show this New 3DS only distinction to customers.

hard to say: It seems likely that anything DSI specific came down as DSIware.

But since it was DSIware, there's no way to tell whether it couldn't have worked on anything else.

Here is the full list of DSi exclusive retail releases...

-Face Training: Facial exercises to strengthen and relax from Fumiko Inudo

-Foto Showdown

-Picture Perfect Hair Salon

-System Flaw

Yes they were all DSiWare class gimmicky games designed around the cameras.

Someone can sell me their copy (or loan me it) now that this is coming out.

Portable Reyn time :datass:

Did the video appear really slow to anyone else? It was really bizarre.

It really did. I think that putting this on the New 3DS is very ambitious and it should have gone to the Wii U. This might be of some interest:

At first I was staggered by the idea of it running on 3DS, but then I suppose they got Monster Hunter 3 running pretty damn well on it already.

I reckon Nintendo view the wii u pretty dimly now, they're focusing on making their investors happy, hence no consumer conscience for you.

The Wii version can be played on the Wii-U, and of course Monolith is already bringing a successor to the Wii-U.

Words cannot describe how weirdly this sounds to me.

As noted above they're releasing the sequel on Wii U along with another bunch of games like Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2. They're even pushing back the New 3DS/3DSXL in Europe and America to miss the holiday season either because they don't have any software ready or they want the Wii U in the spotlight over the holiday season.

I never managed to get hold of the Wii version, and it's like hen's teeth now. Needless to say, this will be fukkin' BOUGHT. It's about time I upgraded my old OG 3DS anyway.

Neither of which are portable.

I've not played Xenoblade (still in shrink wrap, not sure why) but the battle scene on 3DS looks incredibly slow in how he moves and swings the sword. Is that how the game actually plays?

This game is amazing and will be fantastic on the new 3DS .... But it won't be out until 2015 and the new X for Wii U will be soon after, so I'll give this all a miss this time. But if you never had it on Wii, it's a great reason to trade in your old 3DS next year.

I reckon some weird rushed screen capture stuff happened there. You also get stuff like that happening when transcoding from variable frame rate to constant frame rate for example.

I was only pointing out that bringing the first Xenoblade to the 3DS doesn't mean that they're abandoning the home consoles. I'm not quite sure what you think a handheld being portable brings to that.

Kind of a shame that Xenoblade has got all the press though. No successor to Last Story, Pandora's Tower or even Fragile Dreams?

Or Muramasa, which I know has some extra stuff on Vita?

Had zero interest in a New 3DS, but this changes everything. I've played it to death on the Wii, but still can't help be excited about playing it all over again on a portable. It's such a great game, probably the best traditional JRPG we got last generation, as far as I'm concerned. Despite little interest in the Wii U, I'm really looking forward to the next game.

I wonder if we'd ever get GameCube games on the VC compatable. Imagine Skies Of Arcadia Legends on it. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles would be a much better fit for this than it originally was for the GameCube due to the multiplayer dynamics being more suited to online play. Now I'm just imagining things that will never happen and getting myself way too excited.

It's taken me about 9 years to end up with 3 gba sps and 2 friends interested enough to play crystal chronicles,, it might actually be really good, I just need another 2 cables. :p

It's interesting and it's fun. Bears little resemblence to a Final Fantasy, but still.

Get Four Swords as well, if you can. Deathmatch Zelda is a unique experience that is not to be missed.

What sort of price band where you thinking of, SEP? If it helps, Amazon currently has a few copies (nine) at £41.78... I know it's not cheap, but it's pretty good compared to most prices that you see now. Click here to view.
