Sometimes the framerate has momentary shudders in this game, but strawberry float me, it's amazing how they pulled all this off.

I've only played it in handheld mode and outside of super dense areas in Gormott and Mor Ardain the framerate held up quite well. It was only really in the previously mentioned places that the dynamic resolution made things a bit blurry.

The DLC was buttery smooth except for one area near the end and I thought it looked even better to boot.

Think I've put in 250+ hours now.

I can totally understand that, the world is huge and you could quite easily get lost in it. I'm about 25 hours in now. Just met Mythra, and now this kinda reminds me of Grandia 2 (what with one of the main characters having an alter ego).

Is the Expansion pass any good?

i would say it is, challenge mode, story expansion, new blades, new quests that give you access to very useful items

I've just got into the final chapter at about the 105 hour mark.
Still missing a few of the Random blades, but I'm working on side quests and levelling up to increase luck, then I'll go on a Core binge with some luck boosting accessories and weapon chips.

I think the Expansion Pass is worth it for the Torna DLC alone - the new characters and Titan are excellent and features a new take on the base games excellent battle system. You also get a number of new Rare Blades, Quests, Challenge Mode and items such as Legendary Core Crystals + Salvaging Cylinders for the main game.

The challenge mode is quite a significant addition in its own right. The expansion pass is crazy good value if you like the base game.

Thanks very much for the replies. I'll likely get it before Christmas.

I'm still figuring out the battle scene in this game. I'm learning new things every time I play it. I still haven't grasped how the elemental system works, and attack cancelling. I really need to read a tutorial about those.

As someone who played the gooseberry fool out of Xenoblade, it's good to see the topple system has been expanded on.

Oh you’ll still be figuring it out sixty hours in. My advice: go read up on the systems online. The game does a gooseberry dessert job of explaining its battle systems.

It's still introducing new elements to the battle system even right near the end of the game.
You can pull up the tutorials again whenever you want though if you need a reminder.

I completely forgot about the auto attack/timed arts thing until this morning. My damage output is a lot higher now, I'm kicking myself.

Fantastic game, I'm loving this, despite how not very well it explains itself.

The more I play the more my one major criticism of the game gets to me.
The absolute constant swapping of engaged blades for field skills. It's so annoying to have to keep going into the menu and swapping blades back and forth to pass a one off skill check.

A much better system would have been just checking all blades not currently on Merc missions to see if you had enough field skills that COULD be equipped at once and then let you pass it.

Yeah, that's the one aspect that I think is genuinely a bad thing in this game.

Not sure if you're aware but the skill check is across all of your characters, not just the three you have in your party so you can swap blades on characters you aren't actively using and not worry about having to swap them back again. That helped reduce the annoyance a tad when I realised it.

Yeah it's across everyone but it's still annoying, especially when you're trying to keep certain blades engaged for Weapon and Trust points so you're constantly back and forth.

I just wanted to ask if anyone would know how far I am in this. I'm still doing stuff in Mor Ardain. Just got to the factory with the artificial blades.

I think there are ten chapters of roughly equal length?

Yeah there's ten chapters where their length will vary depending on how focussed you are on progressing the story versus doing side quests, finding blades, levelling up etc.

I seem to recall the artificial blade factory being somewhere around mid-game, there's certainly still plenty of stuff to come after that.

I found that factory bit to be the worst bit of the game. If you're still enjoying it during that then you're in for a treat for the rest of the game.

I actually agree. It seemed like it went off on a tangent a bit.

I think I might be Nopon racist. They are strawberry floating annoying though.

I kind of get what people were saying about the character designs in this game. Mythra's outfit is utterly ridiculous.
