Looks and sounds wonderful. I cant wait! Except I'll have to. :(

Hopefully they will stagger the systems over the early game so you can learn it bit by bit like in the first game. X must have been pretty tricky to get to grips with if you were a noob.

Preordered the special edition. Can't wait, Xenoblade on Wii is in my top 5 games of all time (although I didn't get on so well with X)

Amount of boobage is hilarious, made somewhat OK mainly by he fact they are not real people, but "blades". Alright then. Just a sexy sword. Nice sword. Not real. Everything's fine.

It looks fantastic though, the art style and cinematography is much more cohesive with better faces. No wax models. Still worst lip syncing I've ever seen though.

I want to be interested in this game / series, but every time i tune in to a Direct etc i come away so perplexed by the way combat mechanics etc are described that im put off. It feels like Chemistry at school all over again, only my brain is twice as old now....

Well that was a turn around. Hated the trailer but the more detailed look sucked me right in. Looks great.

But yes, the boobs are going to make it faintly embarrassing to play on a train.

So I've never touched a previous Xenoblade game... Will this plot continue from a previous title or do I need not worry and can just jump in and understand it

You’ll be fine to jump in with Chronicles 2, JimKT. Plot-wise you won’t be missing out and the gameplay mechanisms have been updated for this title. It does appear to be a fairly complex game, though, so giving it time will probably be a key factor.

X does train you on the basics (for like 15 minute battle) but you will probably need to read the electronic manual for deeper mechanics. You are fine just triggering arts that are selected on the screen with dpad + a and equipping good gear (the game highlights better and worse stuff in red and green) and the attacks are automatic, you just change your targets and strafe and jump if you want. It is mostly timing and not so much systems driven.

The Collector's Edition is now on Amazon for £10 cheaper than both Game and the Nintendo Store, at £69.99 (£67.99 with Prime :D). It also looks like the ratings logos are now on a removable card, not to spoil that gorgeous box art. I'm so hyped. :D Less than a month. :toot:

I was tempted by the collectors edition but I've got an awful lot of Christmas shopping to do so another £30 or so on top of the base game is a bit too much right now. It does look mighty tempting though. :shifty:

Might be getting the Xenoblade Pro controller from one of my brothers.

I've been playing first game to see if I can't get near end game before Christmas but I'm not rushing through it as I'm enjoying my time with it, it still looks very good even if blurry at times.

The sequel looks so good save the anime eyes and look on main characters, wish they'd kept XC1 design. Shulk looks far more human than XC2 main hero.

That doesn't translate well to HD though. The character models in X look like wax models, and flesh tones aren't any better than doom 3. I think mimetic realism is much better ie Disney /anime.

I mean the design/look, not actually copy xc1 design to xc2.

I'm not too fond of XC2 main character looking like a child (or is one), much prefer them at least of young adult age - guess I'm kind fed up of RPG games where you tend to play as child. But I'm being picky; I know I'll enjoy XC2 quite a lot regardless of character designs.

Welp, I may as well get this day one considering Ive been playing the original all week... Sitting at 100hrs playtime roughly and I'm at inside of mechios or something, got Fiona back.

I'm hoping 2 will improve some aspects of 1 - and borrow what made X great over 1, like field gear. It always annoyed me that my party in Xenoblade 1 looks ridiculous with the gear I get and wish they would've just kept their original outfits :fp:

Insane outfit combinations that even carried over into cutscenes was something I loved about the first one.

Fair enough, it just annoyed me too much

Sharla in my game looks so ridiculous with that fan service ... Plus head wings. Yeah.

Yup, that was one of the things I liked about X, if you equipped the "best" gear everyone ended up looking like a Mass Effect character. The ability to equip field gear so your character doesnt look like a space marine was cool, I hope they keep it for this.
