Do you need Pyra to do Azami's blade quest? I can't find the guy in Fonsa Myma to talk to... I noticed Wulfric's requires you to have her around, for some reason.

Got to a bit where I need Dark Mastery and she was like the only dark blade I've got :fp: Was hoping to just grind her mastery up a bit. Just wasted five rare core crystals trying to get some more dark blades. This whole RNG side of the rare core crystals thing is nonsense. Rare crystals should give you rare blades otherwise there's no point to them whatsoever :x

fraid so i went through that myself

Just started chapter 10 before I called it an evening. I definitely get the feeling chapter 10 will be mainly cutscenes with a fight (or two?). Hopefully I'll get this finished off when I get home from work :toot:

Starting to love the combat now, on a fight in chapter 9 I got 3 orbs on one enemy and burst all 3 in a chain attack.

Frank wrote:It's a bit annoying having to swap your whole team for three jobber blades every now and then, though. I'm just glad I'd bonded enough crystals with the rest of my team. Rex had six blades with Dark Mastery on his own :slol:

Yep, the system for getting blades is pretty poor as well, I've got plenty of rare blades out of the rare crystals but now I only get common ones. No idea if that means I have all of the rare blades or not though :?

It's very annoying (probably my main complaint) about having to constantly mess about to get the required blade field skills on your team, if they insisted on such a mechanic at least let it cover the entirety of your blade collection rather than the active ones. It's bad enough already but I find the menus quite clunky to navigate which makes an annoying task even more annoying due to the time it takes.

You can check the blade encyclopedia and that will show you all the rare blades that you have. Bear in mind though that some are only available in NG+ (most of the ones at the bottom of the list).

The expansion story Torna - The Golden Country launches on Friday (or the following Friday for the cart version). Are any of you Xenoblade veterans gonna be trying it out?

I'll be picking up the Torna expansion, but probably won't jump into it straight away as I've got too many things on the go at the moment. Very much looking forward to some more Xenoblade action though!

For people struggling with swapping blades out for meeting field skill requirements (which I think everyone agrees is a pretty poor system!) it's worth bearing in mind that you don't have to meet the requirement from your current party of 3 characters - blades currently in use by any extra characters you have with you will also count.

Once I had settled on my main 3 characters I basically loaded up my spare characters with as many blades as possible (thank goodness they added the ability to skip the awakening animation! ) - this way although you still have to swap their blades around you at least get to leave your current party with the blades you actually want to use most of the time!

I won't be picking up Torna expansion, currently I've no plans to. I've started to really enjoy the majority of XC2 but with at least 4 other games I need to crack on with it will have to wait. I'll never say never of course but it's doubtful for the foreseeable future.

I have the season pass so will be getting Torna. Think I'll wait to clear some of my backlog before diving in though as I haven't played any of the DLC stuff yet and there's a lot in the main game I'd like to go back to (blade side quests etc).

Really looking forward to it though, looks like a really substantial update.

Will get the retail version even though I have barely touched the main game.
I heard the retail version has Torna on the cartridge and a code for the rest of the season pass for the main game, which seems pretty decent .

Does anyone know how long Torna will be?

Been playing a lot in the past couple of days. I agree with the bullshit you have to do to activate things in the field and how random they can be to achieve

The respawning Phantasms in chapter 7 :x

Think I'm on the last one now but I've had to put the Switch to sleep as the train got to my stop :( Bet it respawns as soon as I wake it up...

State of those ears.

I like how the first thing Rex does is friendzone her. "I love you, too. I love all you guys!" :slol:

also was that whole dungeon literally just to learn that the true power is the friends we made along the way?

Well I was kind of right about chapter 10, very cutscene heavy. Although I haven't yet finished it as I got beat by the final boss first time round :( party was all level 70 but they still seemed to be able to one shot me when the battle entered its closing stages, also annoyingly any orbs I placed on the boss seemed to disappear and my team gauge was used reviving party members so couldn't even get a chain attack going! Going to grind till level 75, should be easy enough using chain attacks to boost my bonus exp and the enemies close by although finishing it will probably have to wait for this evening.
