There's a lot there - including a stall where you can find out your Game of Thrones... house? Clan? No idea what they're called. Just be careful as there's actually two. A small one and a large one on the main street. Nearly everything's at the large one, though you can get a Yorkshire Pudding wrap at the small one.

I’ve only walked through it on my way to other places, but there seems to be quite a lot there. They even have a small ice rink set up outside so people can try curling.

My son loves the bar area in the middle of the market, there are lots of wooden animals decorating it and he likes watching the big singing moose that they have up on the wall.

Frank wrote:Also the Birmingham Christmas Market is the worst thing to do with this season. Just a total tedious, dull mess of expensive alcohol, inconsiderate crowds and the same three stalls repeated down New Street so they can claim it's "the biggest one yet" :dread:

I've always been fond of the Birmingham one because of the German products they sell, a lot of the other markets i go to don't seem to have that.

Frank wrote:Are there any Christmas markets that are decent? Did Worcesters last weekend and it was okay, but they never seem anything worthy of the hype.

Winchester has a nice atmosphere as it's set in the cathedral grounds, gets very busy though.

If you really hate crowds, go to the Cardiff one, it's spread across a much wider area and doesn't seem to ever get too packed.

I've been to that one a few times over the years, and i always enjoy it.

The worst christmas market i ever attended was in 2014 when i foolishly attempted the hyde park winter wonderland on a saturday afternoon, after trying and failing to make it through the most overcrowded location i've been to in decades, i bailed and went to visit the nearby wellington monument instead as a quick and easy alternative.

Now it's December I'm breaking out the Christmas music, but... How many times do I have to see the same 100 Xmas songs compilation Prime Music? You have it about four times on the first two rows and numerous variants below that.

I'll just settle for the Kelly Clarkson album until I can sort through all these hundreds of hundred song compilations.

Definitely not. They're plurals. Apostrophes don't fly on plurals, even at Christmas!

I'm Sat waiting for the Christmas performance to begin now. I decided my Santa hat would probably be more embarrassing to wear than sandals with missmatching socks as it's going to be more noticeable.
Already had a couple of funny looks from a few of the other parents

Tree is up. Our flat is only small so we’ve got a potted real one. Added a bow of tartan in my newly married into clan colours (conveniently red and dark green). Got fairy lights in the kitchen (convenient cuz the last under cupboard bulb blew and they’re no regular ones so strawberry float dealing with that for 4 weeks) and wreaths were discounted in Tesco so I’ve picked up another two for under a fiver. I’ll take one to work tomorrow, probably for the staff room in case of inspectors meaning about infection control. Was a quiet shift last night so we drew holly and Christmas stuff on all the white boards, and made a reindeer and snowman out of two bedpans.

We have a Christmas meal today followed by a pub crawl. I really can’t be arsed but hopefully once I have had a few drinks I’ll be more in the mood.

It'd be funnier if you strapped 'em to your crotch area but they were actually shaped like cockerels.

Did the Birmingham Frankfurt Market today, and was just as good as i'd remembered.

Ended up buying a couple of little wooden tree decorations, some food items, and i had a cup of gluhwein in one of those special christmas market cups which you can keep afterwards.

All in all, a great day.
