The best thing about the Christmas season is that Panettone is back in the shops.
Every year I get at least 1 of every price point panattone I can find from all the shops in my local area and rate them then buy a crapload from which ever wins.

I bloody love it with a large mug of coffee.

It isn't even Thanksgiving in this god forsaken hellpit of a country yet, and Christmassy crap is polluting the shops already.

I’m not usually one for putting up the Christmas tree that early but for some reason I thought I’d do it today.

Visited the loft, collected tree, setup, put on lights... BLAM! Lights not working. Need to find replacement 3 amp fuse. Searched around for an hour without luck - only got 13 amp versions. No idea where to buy new fuses - do supermarkets sell them?

So, the tree is standing in my living room sans lights and decorations. Complete shambles :( :fp:  .

And the tree is only a three foot one  .

I always test the lights a month before and order new ones from eBay if there are any issues.

We did ours at the weekend as the wife is working / on call this weekend coming. Feels all festive at home now :D

As I'm not going to be in my new home over Christmas we put the decorations up mid November. It's been lovely. Also, my gluten free mince pies are strawberry floating on point boys.

I bought my first christmas tree at the weekend. A 6 footer artificial jobbie, and I have bought 400 lights in the last few days. I have bobbles and tinsel, don't think I will put tinsel on the tree as I don't really like the stuff. I hope I have enough lights.

This is genuinely the first Christmas in years that I am getting excited for. I wasn't going to put up a tree or anything, but being peer pressured a bit made me rethink it.

I will put it up this weekend :datass:

Got some new lights. Sparing no expense, I selected a line of 50 mini LCD white lights for £4 from Tesco. You can almost see them from my sofa :datass: .

LCD white lights? Like little TV screens for lights?

...they’re wee, battery-powered lcd bulbs that should last “a long time”. My tree isn’t exactly ablaze with light, though.
