PostXmas shopping? Are you done and what did you get?
by Tragic Magic » Sat Dec 03, 2016 12:01 am

Simple question really for this time of year.

Apart from buying a gift for my brother, I'm all done. I won't post what I got my wife, just on the off chance she snoops on my posts here (I highly doubt it) but for other family members I have got:

Dad - A food processor because he asked for it.
Mum - Several books because she's hard to buy for and books cure all ailments.
Work secret Santa - Leprechaun DVD (because she's Irish), ear plugs (because she's surrounded by nerds who talk Fallout 4 all day), chocolate (to be kind) and a silly book about cats trying to kill you (because she is a cat person, like myself)

So are you all done with Xmas shopping? And what have you bought people? I'm assuming we all do our shopping online as only luddites buy gifts on the high street. Also, if anyone could suggest a present for my brother that isn't a signed photo of Tracey Beaker, that'd be really helpful.

I've bought my 7yr old son about a billion wrestling figures, new skylanders game, several Lego dimensions packs and a few more billion wrestlers so far. I hope he starts liking wrestling soon.

Nearly done but feel like there's less under the tree this year.

Ps4 pro for Anung and another we all chipped in to buy for his sister. Need to buy a generic game for her boyfriend and some make up shift for cousins. Lean in 15 new book for work secret Santa and that's about it.

Also picked up a Kelly brook calendar for Anung cuz it's tradition.

Done? I've not even started yet.

I'm involved in three different secret santas this year, too. One here, one with my girlfriend's family, and one at work. The one at work is particularly challenging, as I've not even met the woman I've drawn to buy for, because she's been off since I started four weeks ago.

I think this weekend might be the time to get organised.

And with that, I've already spent a small fortune on Amazon. Popping into Birmingham later this afternoon/evening to pick up a bit more there, too. That should be almost everything covered, then.

Think I might end up getting my brother some alcohol but I don't even know what he really drinks these days. He's just bought a Renault so I might get him a beret and a garlic necklace instead.

So far only got the wife her main present (coffee machine), but we're both heading to Bluewater on the 22nd to do the rest. It's going to be rammed but all part of the fun.

Got most of it done, still five or six things to get. Was gonna get them when I'm in Edinburgh next week but I might just get most or all of them from Amazon.

Haven't bought anyone anything and the few people I might actually get something for would all be tricky people to buy for. Generic ideas like perfume and alcohol will probably be relied upon.

Agreed. That's my idea of hell. I remember going Westfields Shepherds Bush on boxing day. Never again. :dread:

I bought myself an Xbone Elite bundle and Halo from the missus. I've bought her a tattoo voucher of similar value and still have stocking fillers to order - I haven't got round to looking at her wish list yet.

Your definition of fun is my definition of unfun. Hate the Christmas crowds.
