I've had this for a while (as well as kiwami, 3, 4 and Dead Souls :shifty:) on ps3/4 so thought i'd jump in now. Its profoundly strange but very enjoyable and certainly different. I wish the ps4 releases of 3-5 had been announced before i'd bought the ps3 versions, but there we go.

I'm still in the opening/tutorial section i think so the world hasn't opened up much, about to go to the loan shark's office and i was annoyed that the Sega arcade was closed.

Ha so was I, thankfully it's not too long before it'll be open. Got to play Space Harrier :datass:

...also spent far too long on the crane machine :shifty:

I got a plush Megadrive from one of those the other day, showed it to the policeman during a stop and search.

I wasn't around to see the action last night but I'll keep my eyes open for future streams :-).

Started this last night, and it's batshit mental. I love it.

It feels like playing a mid shelf PS2 game from back in the day, but obviously much better looking.

For some reason that is my favourite sub-sub genre: b-tier games that have loads of mad ideas and the gumption to just go with them, rather than being watered down aaa blandness.

It's a sub-genre that speaks strongly to that sense of nostalgia from when I really loved games. The PS2/GC era truly was golden for the breadth of diverse mid range titles that were all fighting to do something different, but somehow all felt a bit familiar, too.

Been taking part in a side quest today which has involved writing graffiti on a toilet wall.

This game sure does spring some surprises.

I really like the way the game doesn't do anything to stop my computer from going into sleep mode during long cutscenes, then crashing when it wakes, having not saved, so I have to do the whole Kuze, and preceeding fight sequence again. :simper:

The Kuze fight should be easier this time though as it took me a good few attempts to even notice the button prompt in the top right of the screen to do extra damage when he's floored. :fp:

Replayed it this morning. I can't believe it crashed literally seconds away from chapter end, as well. Turns out that attacking grounded opponents is just a standard part of combat, which was good to learn.

Picked up a few side missions already, and they're utterly mad. Does the game time gate any of these? Like, are they only available in certain chapters, or at day/night, for example? I'd hate to lock myself out of any of them. Looking forward to exploring more of Kamurocho, and finding more to do. I picked up a girl's phone card, so need to find out what that does. Can you do anything with prizes from the grab machine in the arcade? I got an axolotl in a top hat, and went to the guy in the arcade and thought the "change prizes" option would be to exchange it for cash or something, but it literally just changed the prizes in the machine.
