This has apparently sold out on Amazon :o

I really hope this is a sign of it doing well, this is one series that deserves more recognition

The only Yakuza i ever played was the first one on the ps3 which i really enjoyed all those years ago.

Have the newer ones evolved much?

They evolve in little ways whilst the core gameplay remains the same. Like in one of the games they allowed you to traverse roofs, then another introduced multiple playable characters with each character having his own fighting style and mission type variety. In Yakuza 5 you got to play as Haruka as she became an Idol (including rhythm gameplay!), and race cars as Kaz. I doubt there are many Yakuza games which are exactly like the previous release.

It's sold out on Amazon.co.uk

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Yakuza ... B01LE64RDE

They don't know when or if this item will be back in stock. I may pick this up when it's on sale or soon.

This has flown in completely under my radar, but having watched the Angry Joe Review I'm tempted to give it a try.

I'll wait for a price drop but it's on my watch list.

Yakuza 0 launch trailer, free DLC announced

Yakuza 0 is available today for PlayStation 4 in the Americas and Europe. And with it comes the launch trailer and downloadable content plans.

According to Sega, it will be releasing a few patches over the next couple of weeks that add free downloadable content to the game. Each batch will contain content such as new outfits, weapons, items, and crafting components. The first downloadable content is available today, and three additional batches will be made available every week until February 14. Players can access these bonuses in the game by talking to Bob the clown in front of the shrine in Kamurocho or Sotenbori.

Downloading this now. Have never played a Yakuza game as my ps3 broke before booting 4 or 5. Should I be excited? First release day purchase for.... well years discounting psvr.

I haven't started this yet ( :x work) but, if it's like previous games, expect a slow start with the game setting out who's who and what's going on with various people. Don't let that put you off. The action (along with the diversions, mini games and side missions) will be worth the wait.

Cheers. I'm totally up for slow burners that deliver slowly. Deadly Premonition and Shenmue are two of my favourite games of all times, and I have heard this game compares favourably.

Snap, Preezy! I've never played a Yakuza game but, having watched that Angry Joe review, man I'm so tempted to give it a go! The game seems to pack in so much *extra* stuff... OutRun, dancing, weird things... tons of it!

I have banned myself from buying videogame stuff in order to save money for the Switch launch, but this just looks so cool.

Yeah to be honest it's being able to play the retro games that appeal the most

That cutscene at the beginning of Chapter 3. 8-)

This is my first Yakuza game and I'm enjoying it immensely.

No idea when I'm gonna be able to make a start on this; fully hooked on WoW again, and job related BS means I won't have any free time in the morning for a couple of weeks. Oh well, at least I bloody bought the thing and that's what's most important. (Showing Sega we're interested in the series and all that.) Great to see Yakuza vets and newbies alike enjoying it, though! :toot:

bought on disk today. put in ps4 when I got in. said there was an update and took about 30 secs to download and then the game started and I was playing straight after the intro was finished.

no waiting for it to install so far before it would start. is this the norm for disk games?

That they let you play without waiting to install a set amount of data first? Mostly, yeah.
