I couldn't believe the amount of entitled brats on the PSN and SEGA blogs moaning "no disc, no buy" and saying that they won't buy it because it's digital only.

FFS, if you're a massive Yakuza fan and you don't buy this game over such a finicky issue, you don't deserve translated Ishin or Zero.

What I don't like about the digital release is that it's going to stop me from buying multiple copies.

I tell you something, i am grateful for this release and will pay full price, even if it is £50 as the previous 2 ps3 games have been brilliant. It also proves that sometimes us fans get what we really want, along with the majoras mask release on 3ds!

I hope everyone that moaned for a western release pays full price on release day which forces a western release of yakuza 0 on ps3/ps4.

This might just provide the impetus for me to start Yakuza 3.

Do it! The sequel is even better imo, but you must go through it slowly and take in the atmosphere. Would be fantastic to complete both and then get yakuza 5 next summer! What a perfect game for the summer drought.

I reckon I'll start after the Christmas games binge has subsided. I've had 3 and 4 sitting here waiting for quite some time, but there's always been something more immediate demanding my attention.

I don't like that I won't be playing the first two games before starting 3, but I've been assured that there is a brilliant story recap included.

I've been wanting to replay 3, 4 and Dead Souls (hey, I like it despite its numerous flaws). Knowing that 5 is coming could be the incentive for me to push on with it.

So happy.

Everyone needs to be tweeting this wonderful man if you want to see Ishin (and probably Zero) come to the West: https://twitter.com/giocorsi (you may also want to use #buildingthelist when you tweet - dunno how essential that is, though  )

For those who aren't aware, he's the director of Third Party Production.

Sony have created a new department called “Third Party Production” for their PlayStation business. This group, which is part of PlayStation’s Third Party Relations team will work closely with publishers to bring their games to Sony platforms.

Here’s what to expect, says Gio Corsi, Director of Third Party Production for Sony Computer Entertainment America:

This means you’ll see even more great games on PlayStation platforms, including new IP’s, ports, and localized products. In addition, our partners who are currently in production will have us as a resource to strengthen their development process, ensuring quality and consistency on all Third Party projects.

The Third Party Production groups’ first project is a port of Borderlands 2 for Vita. Sony announced recently that they were publishing the game themselves.

I'll make a Twitter account specifically for messaging him about Yakuza.

Will pick up dead souls - is it like the main games or completely different? Still story based? Was looking at the sales numbers for the previous titles - we are lucky to get this localised, especially as it is even larger than yakuza 4.

I would say a port if shenmue/ shenmue 2 isn't out of the question now!

This will be the last game I buy for PS3. I hope this is a good indication that we'll get Yakuza Zero too.

Well if they at least break even I would say we have a good chance of getting Zero. In the meantime I will play Dead Souls, which is £5 on Amazon (Limited Edition version) and mop up some of the side missions in Yakuza 4.

Sounds like Sony are bringing it over themselves.

Well good on Sony. Maybe a chance of Shenmue 1 and 2 ports to PS3/4 too then. I think HD Remasters won't be considered at this time for that series! Anyway, brilliant, brilliant news and next year looks set to be the best year in Videogaming if we get Zelda Wii U right at the end of it!

Dead Souls is like a TP monster shoot 'em up.

Yep, I read it doesn't have the traditional fighting mechanic and isn't the greatest game, but retains the decent story telling and characters of the main releases, which is what I am looking to enjoy.

The thing about Dead Souls is that it might just have the most fluid story of the series. I feel that the team learnt a lot from Yakuza 4 and mimic the exact structure of that game to great effect. The characters are as brilliant as ever and playing as Majima is a revelation, the game is worth playing simply so you can experience playing as him. It's real fan service experience. Unfortunately the gunplay is nowhere near as satisfying as the hand-to-hand combat of previous iterations.

Get it cheap, whack it onto a lower difficulty and enjoy the silly story.
