Is there one in particular you are thinking of? I just did a search for 'em for the sake of it and the one everyone seemed to think was best is no longer online.

The guide you're thinking of was the Yakuza 5 guide from a guy called Yimbo Carimbo. It's been offline for a couple of weeks. I was able to snag cached versions of the walkthrough (not available now, unfortunately) and I'm making do.

The incredible guide I was referring to is this for Yakuza Ishin: http://www.khhsubs.com/projectsrggishin.html

Use that guide and you will have a blast. It's a fantastic experience and based on my current exploits with Yakuza 5 (about 20% in so far), easily the better of the two.

strawberry float you Sega. :x

Ishin is cross-gen, right? If the translation is really that good I could just import the PS3 version and play that. Need my Yakuza.

I've been tempted to pick up Ryū ga Gotoku 5 for ages, and Ishin! too since it came out. I didn't think I could hack using a translation guide but I was looking at the Yimbo guide just the other week... Hope it comes back online, if it's my only opportunity to play it I would reconsider.

:fp: st self. If I'd scrolled up a bit before your post I'd have seen you meant the Ishin guide. Ta for the link, it may still come in handy.

I'm sure it was about ¥4000 odd preowned when I was over a couple of weeks ago. That's about £24.

I'll grab while I'm there then :D One of my mates is taking me to a super cheap game store so I'll stock up on things.

Try not to take any clothes, means you can bring back more games!

-the story takes place in December 1988
-2 main characters: Kiryu Kazuma and Majima Goro
-Kiryu is 20 years old who is living off part time job (tokyo)
-Majima Goro is 24 years old (osaka)
-the story eventually leads to Ryu ga gotoku 1, so you will see lots of characters from Ryu ga gotoku 1

Excellent news about Zero.

Here is the Ishin guide I used, very good and its online! http://www.khhsubs.com/projectsrggishin.html

Completed Ishin on Sunday, great game. More enjoyable than Kenzan.

EDIT: also a pdf version of the whole guide here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/acmyjxsl8a3bacv/YakuzaIshin_FullGuide_final_20140715.pdf

Thank you for posting those, DrPepperMan! That greatly improves chances of me buying it for PS4.

I know you say it's better than 5 but if you ever come across something similar for Yakuza 5 please be sure to post it here!

Cheers, 5 in a way is better due to the modern setting.

A good guide to Yakuza 5 is here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/ps3/644272-ryu-ga-gotoku-5-yume-kanaeshi-mono/faqs

A guy called thepatrick used to write really good guides but hasn't done any since 4.

Looked on Play Asia to see if their preorder for the game is up, nothing yet but just brought the HD remakes of Yakuza 1 & 2 for PS3.

I've been playing (well say been, I haven't played it in near half a year) Yakuza 1 HD on my Wii U and I was really enjoying it. It was my first entry in the series and I was loving it. It reminded me a lot of the Kunio-kun games for some reason.
