I had to phone them to chase the parcel I had the other day, turns out their contact centre has no ability to call out to delivery people, so their way of dealing with it is to just hand out the mobile number of the delivery driver. From this I also found out that if the item is a 3 day delivery for example the driver may have it at the start of that time and it just sits in their van until they deliver it so the Yodel vans at peoples houses quite likely have people stuff in them.

Just had a text that Hermes are delivering some of my PC parts from Amazon :dread: :dread:

These are the muppeteers who left my secret santa delivery out in the rain the other year.

Your mum will be livid if they don't deliver it, such a waste of her money.

A spokesperson for Amazon, which uses Yodel as one of its couriers, said: "Amazon orders continue to be processed and delivered in the normal time frame. For example, Prime customers can order for next day delivery."

You can order for next day delivery, however it will take a week to arrive.

Unsurprisingly the Yodel delivery didn't turn up yesterday (paid a fiver for next day delivery) whereas the delivery from DPD arrived right at the start of the two hour window they gave me.

Shock horror. I think Yodel really should have planned ahead a bit as pissing of Amazon by saying yeah deliveries can wait isn't going to work out well for them.

I love how every year around Christmas they are caught by surprise by the amount of deliveries.

I look forward to the day they lose some massive contract like Amazon simply because they are so poor and receive so many complaints. Sorry the delivery drivers will have less parcels to deliver (maybe they will actually deliver some) but they will always have eBay, small business messenger stuff etc.

It just turned up. Surprised to see Yodel deliver something before 5pm for a change.

My mate (rather dishonestly) claimed that his Xbone from Amazon via Yodel didn't show, when it did. Amazon were basically 'lol wot r they lyk' and sent another one out straight away. I guess they're used to Yodel just messing things up.

Hm, they can demand that back if yodel follow up on it and if he sold it not a good idea.. . :dread:

Yup, fraud. Different if a retailer just accidentally sends something out, they can still claim it back as mistake. But you could even be sued for that!
Don't fancy hearing from Amazon's lawyers. :dread:

It must have crossed everybody's minds. Yodel steal gooseberry fool quite regularly it seems. (or more accurately, guy with van fancies a bonus).

I dunno, they tend not to hang around for very long when I'm slow to answer the door.

Shouldn't take so long to answer the door then.

Yeah Buffalo, I actually hope your mate gets done for that tbh.

My older brother had a scummy friend who got done for something similar a couple of years back. It wasn't Yodel, but he noticed a delivery tracking info was stuck in the undelivered state and claimed a new TV (or sound system).

They proved it was delivered and he got done for fraud, or whatever the settlement process is. It just seems a stupid risk to take, especially if you've got a family, career, etc.

With Yodel all their stuff is tracked, if Amazon sent a replacement straight away the only thing I could think of was maybe the driver didn't do their job right and didn't scan it hence why they didn't hesistate to fix the problem, probably costing the guy his job!

Whoops.

In all areas of parcel deliveries there is fraud, I've had people pull up at the side of the road and offer me money if they order a credit card to arrive at that address and for me to give it to them when it arrives. strawberry float that! I'm not going to jail for £50

Yeah, I'm baffled as to how it's not accounted for, despite being given to my mate in person - signed for and whatever, I assume.
