Yup, fraud. Different if a retailer just accidentally sends something out, they can still claim it back as mistake. But you could even be sued for that!
Don't fancy hearing from Amazon's lawyers. :dread:

It must have crossed everybody's minds. Yodel steal gooseberry fool quite regularly it seems. (or more accurately, guy with van fancies a bonus).

I dunno, they tend not to hang around for very long when I'm slow to answer the door.

Shouldn't take so long to answer the door then.

Yeah Buffalo, I actually hope your mate gets done for that tbh.

My older brother had a scummy friend who got done for something similar a couple of years back. It wasn't Yodel, but he noticed a delivery tracking info was stuck in the undelivered state and claimed a new TV (or sound system).

They proved it was delivered and he got done for fraud, or whatever the settlement process is. It just seems a stupid risk to take, especially if you've got a family, career, etc.

With Yodel all their stuff is tracked, if Amazon sent a replacement straight away the only thing I could think of was maybe the driver didn't do their job right and didn't scan it hence why they didn't hesistate to fix the problem, probably costing the guy his job!

Whoops.

In all areas of parcel deliveries there is fraud, I've had people pull up at the side of the road and offer me money if they order a credit card to arrive at that address and for me to give it to them when it arrives. strawberry float that! I'm not going to jail for £50

Yeah, I'm baffled as to how it's not accounted for, despite being given to my mate in person - signed for and whatever, I assume.

They will definitely follow up on it. It might not be for several weeks as they have 1000's of cases to deal with but Amazon are not stupid. They know the serial number of the console in question and during the dispute they will contact Microsoft's Xbox liaison bods (forgot the real team name, sorry) to find out if the console has been activated & online. They will then take it further by finding out who activated it and get the rozzers involved if need be.

True, but the point raised earlier about trotting off the the depot isn't nearly as much bother as watching the door for days while they pull gooseberry fool like unmarked undelivered notices without even ringing the bell.

Actually to be fair I think that was City link.

And I think RM did that once too, but the postie looked like an actual gremlin so I think he was a bit past it tbh.

I think I'd better change his mind, pronto, before he sells it on.

I would if I were you. Is it worth getting a conviction for theft & fraud for just £330?

Yeah I really don't think you can get away with that. I mean, perhaps it's in his interest to not activate the console and return it claiming that it was somehow lost.. But, erm, I really don't know how he could make a convincing case there. It's going to look pretty deliberate. His original claim to Amazon is all going to be on file.

At least it might go down informally with Amazon, like closed account or something, but a conviction for fraud is very serious and can ruin job prospects (goodbye honesty and integrity) and possibly credit etc.

He could just trash it and say it never turned up, will put suspicion on the driver though.

My door bell rang at 8:30pm last night, and when I opened it I see a young couple driving away in a car and yelling 'it's on the drive' and found something from amazon left in the middle of the street. Was Hermes drivers.

Someone I work with has also pulled that trick of telling Amazon something hadn't arrived when it had. Their parcel had been left over their fence though so they told Amazon it had been stolen from their garden. Not sure how traceable that is but I certainly wouldn't want to risk something like that for the sake of a few quid.

I have had things stolen by Yodel though. A PS4 controller, a pack of blank DVDs and a steam cleaner.

Seems the place to ask

Amazon Prime - do I have to be in to sign for?
If I do, and I'm out, is it RM (and a depot) or Yodel and god knows where
