I had a piece of second class post take 16 days to arrive. It was posted from the other side of Liverpool.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Utter gooseberry fool show from all delivery companies recently.

Come back from a weekend away and there's a parcel sat on our doorstep. We've not ordered anything, and it's got a battery sticker on it so clearly something of worth. House number on it is for 3 doors up the road. Go and give that to the person and he has the cheek to say, "well I DID put a post on the Facebook group asking who had it!". Twat. So not only has it shown everyone we're clearly not in, but we get gooseberry fool for taking it to the right house.

Yesterday something from amazon got put through our door that was for a neighbour, the 10 minutes later the delivery woman said she'd delivered thay wrong and only knew because she took something meant for us to the wrong address.

And today, bin bint yet again has paid for priority next day delivery for some stuff and isn't in. She does this all the time and we always end up taking the stuff, but she NEVER comes over to get it. Always let's us take it over (I waited a day last time, what a rebel). The delivery lady even said today she's sick of having to get us to take delivery so is just going to refuse to deliver anywhere unless she's in.

And then AGAIN just now, amazon delivers a small box, and not the other items (electrical goods) we ordered, but the account shows them as being handed to resident :fp: He's clearly just picked one, put it on the step and pressed a delivered button and just strawberry floated off with our stuff.

After experimenting with it the other day, I highly recommend using an Amazon locker if there is one near you.

Our post office has become a delivery hub with evri, Amazon and all kinds of options; did an Amazon order on prime day and of course none of them were eligible for pick-up delivery despite having a £4 off voucher for using the service :simper:

My son's birthday presents were sent out on Yodel (:dread:).

Was supposed to be delivered last Thursday, then Friday, and then today.
Arrived today with only one of the three toys I'd ordered from Smyth's, the label is quite clearly marked 1 of 2 boxes as well. strawberry floating imbeciles.

If I'd known Smyth's used Yodel I'd never have placed an order with them.

My HMV pre-orders were stuck at Bristol Mail Centre for around a week.

Mind you, i only received them because i went to the delivery office and picked them up, not actually had a mail delivery of any kind for the last 5-6 days.

The email I received from Royal Mail. :fp:

I'm sorry there was a delay in delivering a Royal Mail Tracked 48® item, reference number - and can fully understand your concerns.

We aim to deliver Royal Mail Tracked 24 items the next working day and Royal Mail Tracked 48 items within 2 to 3 working days - however, these timescales aren’t guaranteed. You can view the terms and conditions of this service at http://www.royalmail.com/tracked24 or http://www.royalmail.com/tracked48. I can now confirm that your item has been delivered on 18 October 2023.

I understand the inconvenience caused and the costs you may have to pay as a result. For any important, time sensitive and/or valuable items I recommend our Special Delivery Guaranteed® service. This allows you to fully track your item as it travels through our network and on to delivery. More information can be found at http://www.royalmail.com/specialdelivery.

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us and once again, please accept my sincere apologies. If you need further help, please visit our Help and Support Centre at http://www.royalmail.com/help.

They say that but I had a friend send me a £150 digital recorder once via Special delivery, for a job, and it never arrived, just disappeared. Might have been the drug den next door but they should have never strawberry floating handed it over anywhere else. Still think about it when sending business items.

Actually just looked back on it and it was £200 :fp:

A TORRENT of failure from Royal Mail these days.

Dispatched an item at the Post Office on 28th November via Tracked 48. Still hasn't been delivered. I was supposed to receive a parcel yesterday between 7:30am - 7:30pm using Tracked 24. Received an email after 7:30pm saying "We are sorry to inform you that our Royal Mail driver has not been able to deliver your order. Please don't worry, we will re-attempt the delivery on the next available working day, and you will receive another email to confirm those details." I haven't received an email today. :|

Not that the competition is any better. Ordered some tea from Twinings as a gift. Box arrived from Hermes Evri like it had been sat on. The "FRAGILE" markings all over the box sure helped, then. Thankfully it was just tea.

Amazon are fully in to dump and run territory around here now. Fortunately I'm done with shopping now so not using them, but my wife is and there's stuff just being left out without knowing it's even there. Select an amazon locker if it's an option with them. Other People like hermes or yodeLOL you have to take your chances with :dread:

Any recommendations for Secret Santa posting this year? I've always used Royal Mail in the past but that seems....risky this year.
