Makes you wonder how much Yodel are charging Amazon wholesale when they can even undercut Royal Mail.

I've had DPD, Citylink, CitySprint and Yodel in the past but for the last year it's almost exclusively been from Amazon Logistics. I haven't had any issues with them but I've noticed that they don't require signatures upon delivery.

We've switched to using Yodel to collect packages that are being returned to us now. You can't even arrange a pick-up for the same day :dread:

Yeah, Prime's pretty great. Ordering stuff on Saturday for delivery on Sunday is a bit special.

I take it they are just doing that in the usual places (London, Manchester etc.) for now?

Amazon Logistics don't even have any special delivery vans, round my area they just drive up in a mini.

Amazon logistics is just like yodel all self employed using their own vehicles. The sooner Royal Mail do Sunday deliveries the better.

It doesn't apply to everything for some reason, but they definitely do it here at least. I ordered a couple of Wii U games a couple of Saturdays ago for instance, which came the next day.

I live in Worcester. Not sure if that counts as a "usual place". :shifty:

My friend doesn't post here but he sent his 3DS off to be repaired and it came back via Yodel.

Well I say came back, but the guy phoned him up and asked if he was in to deliver which he wasn't, he was visiting his dad in hospital then rather than go to his house where his mum was and deliver it the delivery guy turned around and said he could only deliver it to him directly.

Next day comes along and he gets another phonecall and it's the delivery driver saying he couldn't deliver today like he said he would since he had to take his wife to the hospital, but my friend was free to go to his house and pick it up (wtf?). Well fast forward 2 days and my friend finally got his 3DS, 5 hours after the guy said he'd deliver it that morning.

Did they stab it with a knife before delivering it? :dread:

Why does it say Fragile? because it's got glass inside!

I ordered some printer ink from Amazon. It used to fit through the letter box. Now it's delivered by Yodel and comes in a massive box with tons of paper to pad out the excess space. Why? Not only is it a massive waste of paper, you now have to be in to receive it. Utterly daft.

I've noticed that small items ordered with Prime and delivered by DPD don't require a signature, they just put it through the letter box. Wonder if that's official procedure or if they're just being lazy.

Yeah Yodel is terrible. We use them at work and half the time stuff doesn't seem to even be delivered. They just say it's been left somewhere when it hasn't. A lot of the drivers are temporary ones, so clearly just steal stuff.

We have been trying out UKMail but they are equally as gooseberry fool.

Ordered something the other week, email saying it was being delivered by Yodel. :dread:

They tried to deliver it three times apparently - despite never leaving me a card - so in the end I had to go to their collection centre and pick it up. Bit of a pain in the arse. The girl there was friendly enough, but why not leave a card?

Because the drivers can't be bothered to get out of the van to push one through the door. They lean out the window and whisper "got a delivery here for you" then instantly floor it and speed off over the horizon. I had to do the same thing once - they asked me for the card number which I didn't have, so just went to pick it up. The cost of getting there and back again was more than if i'd got it sent 1st class recorded delivery instead in the first place
