What in the gooseberry fool;

Yodel, totally different. Get a mobile number through the door when you miss the parcel and the guy lets you come collect the parcel from his house.

Quality service and would happily pay a little more to buy from a company that uses this service.

 Are you mental?

I always get the 'Missed You' card through my door as I'm never in. It has always had a mobile number scrawled on it which I have to contact and I am always offered the option of coming and collecting it from their house, to which I always reply 'please deliver my parcel'

In fact last time, the women on the phone asked if she could finish watching her TV programme before she came out to deliver. Also a few times she (presuming it is the same woman) has been in the middle of feeding her dogs as I can hear them in the background.

In fairness i've done this with my postman and the Next delivery bloke (who also does a few other delivery bits and bobs) but only because I know them both personally from other stuff.

I normally have nothing but hate for YODEL, but have to let you know about a recent delivery...

I ordered some PC speakers from Amazon on Friday night, around 6pm (on their free supersaver delivery). I got an email on Sunday to say they had been dispatched, and thought "Yeah right. Dispatched on a Sunday? Must just be processed for pick up or something". But sure enough, speakers arrived by YODEL Monday (yesterday) afternoon! :D

Amazon used Parcelforce for my new printer. It arrived next working day, even though I got the Free Supersaver delivery. Well chuffed.

Yeah, Parcelforce are good for incountry orders, but you never, ever, ever, ever want to get parcelforce if you import something. They hold your package ransom until you pay their stupid handling charges and won't even allow you to pay it at the door so you have to wait even longer for your parcel to get to you.

Parcelforce are dickheads as well.

How strawberry floating gooseberry fool.

I knew they were coming today, so spotted the van (unmarked but saw man getting package out from the back) and started to head downstairs to the front door

He rang the door bell and then hammered the front door at the same time - I was already on my way down the stairs and could see him through the glass. He'd already started opened the cupboard with the gas/water metres in and casually tossed the parcel in.

Standing at the bottom of the stairs through the clouded glass (about 10-15 seconds after doorbell rang) I watched him scrawl a card (if he'd not be rushed he'd have seen me) and quickly shove a card through. Nothing completed except telling a scrawled tick telling me they'd left it "with a neighbour at number [blank]"

And then he sped off. :fp:

gooseberry fool company, would never used them ever again (only did this time due to free Amazon Prime)

The unmarked vans ones, you seem to just be local people hired by YODEL, seem to be pretty much the reason YODEL has such a poor reputation. The couple of them that operate in my area are useless tossers that just leave the parcels outside, the one guy who is in a proper YODEL van seems to be pretty decent and actually does his bloody job. Seriously how much money can it save YODEL hiring these local people? And it gets them such a shitty reputation as well.

Hexx - your parcel never arrived. Right? ;) It's the only way they'll learn.

I have had the opposite. The guy in the Yodel van is strawberry floating awful, the woman in the unmarked car is excellent.

I've just started doing the odd shift in my local Yodel depot for an agency. Seems like a bit of a raggedy-ass operation, to be honest. And you'd best believe that those packages are being hurled about like so much pizza dough...

My new phone was delivered by Yodel on Friday. There were no problems with the delivery at all - in my hands by 10am.

Happened to me, they delivered a parcel for my dad but no-one was in, rang the number and popped round to pick it up, they were 2 minutes from where I live and to top it off i've served them as customers where I work

Amazon/Royal Mail seem to be hit and miss. After doing so well with my last order, I'd ordered Skyrim for PC on 2nd May, and am still waiting for it.

My copy of Book of Cain turned up today despite being dispatched a day after Skyrim.

Also waiting for Yodel to deliver a new cycle computer. Been out for dispatch since 9.30am, no sign of it. Although Yodel have delivered quite late in the past, so I remain hopeful.

EDIT: 9.30pm now, and no sign of Yodel.
