Not sure i like having to go back into the same level to get different things

Started playing this last night and it's pretty much exactly what I thought it would be - adorable and fun. So far it's definitely a 7/8 out of 10 game as it lacks the ambition or challenge to be anything more. Does remind me a bit of LBP in terms of the style and gameplay.

It's crazy cute. Go-Go Yoshi, the level with the robot, is so much fun. I've finished the first world, but haven't revisited every level backwards yet. The backwards sections seem to be time based (at least the couple I've played so far), so it's less of a chore. Got my first gem, going to try and pace it out a bit more, it seems like a short one.

You will be sent back into the same level again and again for items if you want 100% completion

Can't comment about LBP, but the rest of this seems bang on. Fortunately I like cute.

I liked the mine level

About to take that on - tomorrow, probably. In the meantime, my hand has to recover from Go-Go Yoshi. For everyone mewling about how easy the game is, I'm fairly sure getting all the flowers would be bloody tough!

I think I need 1 flower on Go-Go Yoshi. If I thinking of the correct level aim aim and as you punch go down on the analogue so you get a kinda pounding motion.

I'm trying not to do exactly that! In previous Yoshi games I got so hung up on collecting every last red coin that I never finished the games. So I'm just collecting as much as I can on my first pass-through.

Easier said than done when the little Poochy Pups are yapping at you from the map screen though. :wub:

well we'll all get there eventually im sure

Finished the main story. Think I did the game a disservice saying it lacked challenge as some of the later levels certainly do offer a challenge. The games a decent length and offers some good variety in its level design. Probably a bit too much to collect for me to try and 100%, but it certainly has replay value. Overall it was better than I'd expected based on the demo. I'd probably score it an 8/10

Done it, 100% the whole first area up to the gem and the next area too.

I saw a lot of people slagging the game off on the basis of the demo., saying it was too slow and easy. It was never going to be Donkey Kong or Celeste, but... it was the first level! What did they expect? A timed egg-throwing gallery as the level around them collapses into the lava and fecking zombies eat Yoshi’s legs?
