I went with Zavvi over ShopTo in order to save £2. Never again.

I only preordered something with them once (Rayman Legends). It turned up a week after the release date. It was preordered months in advance as well.

But hey, it's still Thursday. I'd start getting pissed off if it doesn't come tomorrow.

I know, I'm just pretty impatient, especially when it comes to something so fluffy! :toot: It's mainly Yodel ( :dread: ) being slow but Zavvi still contracted it to deliver the package so I feel that it deserves a big part of the blame :P Thankfully, the parcel is now out for delivery so I should get it today in the next month and in several pieces.

In pieces after being passed through a sheep's digestive system and then crushed heavily by a gigantic heavy thing. Yodel are a bit rubbish.

Must say I'm looking forward to this tonight (if it comes that is!) Was reading the Neogaf thread this morning and seems quite positive.

The game is just as delightful as it looks in the videos  Even level one has some well hidden secrets so I couldn't find everything but trying to gather all the collectibles is a great way of adding challenge for those looking for it. I've only completed the first few levels but there was already one cool surprise in terms of gameplay mechanics.

Umbrealla Yoshi reminded me of the special tank and jet levels in Rainbow Paintbrush so hopefully we'll see more of them throughout the game.

My only criticism so far is that the frame rate is not at all constant. The game feels like it's skipping every few seconds which is disappointing given that it looks beautiful and Yoshi's controls are very intuitive. Has anyone experienced this with the download version? I'm using the disc but I'll happily shell out for a digital copy if it leads to a smoother experience.

You using the WiiU Gamepad? Apparently there's a bug if you use the Pro Controller and turn the screen off on the Wii U gamepad. Some people on GAF have experienced it. Can't say I've had any massive issues so far. I'm kinda sensitive to frame rates, there have been some slight skips whenever there's loads of stuff happening on screen. But that's it for me.

This is basically a modern version of Yoshi's Island. Pretty good so far. I hope it gets more difficult and the level design even more interesting. Burt the Bashful's fort level was pretty neat.

Just finished playing most of the first world with my sis. Its lovely. Some proper laugh out loud thigh slapping going on from me.  Mainly when you fire a yarn ball and it bounces around only to spank the other Yoshi on the backside. Even better when it sends him flying off a ledge. This is actually my first proper Yoshi game. At least as far as I can remember so the mechanics are fairly new to me. So far as difficulty goes it seems fine right now for a noob.

Only issue so far is that in co-op the camera can be quite restrictive. Very easy to suddenly find yourself spawning again and loosing all your wool. :x

The little wool butterflies are such a simple but brilliant bit of design.

That was it; thank you! I was enjoying the gameplay but the frame rate left me pretty disappointed.

I got to the end of world one with the smooth frame rate, it really is wonderfully smooth, and I'm really feeling it! Finding all the hidden items in Burt's fort was pretty tricky, and I still managed to miss some, but I appreciate the challenge that they add.

I only realised after the end of world one that you can play as the Yoshis that you knit together after finding all the wool in a level  I still haven't scanned any amiibo so I'll give that a go today.

Good to hear about your first gameplays, chaps. My Yoshi stuff arrived at my parents' place yesterday and I'll be able to play on Monday. I'm looking forward to this yarn :toot: .

So what do you need to do to not see framerate issues?

Don't turn off the screen on the GamePad. I was playing it with the Pro Controller and left the GamePad settings alone. I usually turn off the GamePad screen if I'm not using it. The GamePad ran out of battery while I was playing but it had no effect on the frame rate.

Very weird bug. They will patch it I'm sure.

The chain chomp level was really good

It really is an awesome level  The chain chomp is a great example of how well Nintendo has woollified the gameplay.

What is shown on the Gamepad screen when you play using this controller?

Are the woolly amiibos going to be expensive when they come out here? It's not out until October here but Amazon is selling them for $48, almost the price of a new game.
