I've bought the game but haven't played it yet, as my Wii U is at my flat in Germany.

But it seems that the general consensus is - it's a fantastic game - best Yoshi game since SNES Yoshi's Island?

I played N64 Yoshi's Story yesterday, and that truly is a horrendous game - probably one of Nintendo's worst ever.

I don't think that's the general consensus at all, its somewhat mixed. Certainly not a bad game, but also not a great game most of the time.

The reviews have been mixed, but the general opinion on here seems to be that it's great.

Quite frankly, I really don't trust reviews anymore - I trust the opinion of people who play games for fun, more than those who play games for a living!

I wouldn't take opinions in a Nintendo thread on here as any kind of barometer for how good a game is.

The game asked me if I wanted to try mellow mode during 2-6 and 2-7. I didn't even find all the items :slol: I love the Egyptian theme of 2-7. Using Yoshi to eat fire from lamps and spit it out again is a really cool feature.

Yoshi's Story was alright despite that awful music that plays at the end of each level ( :dread: ). Far from the worst Nintendo game, but definitely far from the best.

I would go as far as agreeing with that sentiment. So far, the game is pretty much Yoshi's Island, with elements of Kirby's Epic Yarn thrown in for good measure. It's definitely the best Yoshi game I've played since Yoshi's Island. I have really enjoyed what I've played of it.

Some shots. Spoilers obviously, up to world 4, boss enemy is one of them. Boss has already been shown in a trailer. Game looks fantastic in places.

That boss sounds like Bert the Bashful, the first mini boss from Yoshi's Island.

I managed to get all the yarn bundles, flowers and stamp icons in 2-8. I never did manage to finish the level with 20 hearts though :( This game is definitely really challenging if you go for all the collectibles. Apparently the bonus levels are much harder but I've yet to unlock a single one.

Bloody hell, the game gets a wee bit jerky in some of the later levels. Some strange bugs as well (sound related). Hope they patch this.

Had a good play today and I absolutely love this.

It's not as good as Yoshi's Island, few games are, but it's damn good, beautiful and feels right.

Not sold on the double Yoshi Amiibo feature. It felt more obstructive than helpful

Finished W1, this game is just so adorable. Great Amiibo integration too, although it's a shame the Pokémon Amiibo don't work, would have liked to see a Pikachu Yoshi.

Which level was that? I finished 3-4 tonight and I'm really enjoying it so it would be a shame to see bugs start to pop up.

Does anyone else find that the background music is to quiet? Most of the time I'm too engrossed to notice but, when I do hear something during a level, it's clear that Yoshi's sound effects are much louder than anything else so it drowns out the music. I can't see an option to lower Yoshi's sounds and/or increase the music volume.

Some of the levels in World 4 and 5 have this weird stuttering thing going on. Not game breaking, but Nintendo usually have this absolutely nailed down. There's a sound bug as well where Yoshi stops making his constipation flutter sound.

Halfway through World 5 now. Game is still quite good despite the above. Much of the replay value is from collectables, I missed quite a lot of wool and sunflowers. I try to get as much I can but some are well hidden.

Remember that this game isn't developed by Nintendo. That might explain the bugs.

Finished world 2 last night. Pooooooooooooochy    Tempted to keep buying the badge to have him with me always. :shifty:  Some amazing music in this. I do think I heard some sound issues during the boss fight though. The music would just "grind" for a second. It didn't sound intentional.

The levels are much longer then I expected.

I assumed those badges were one time use only. I have like 100000 gems hahaha

Edit - didn't read your post properly. I'm tired today!
