World 3 done. Jebus this is good. 3-5  Although........ did I just murder the parents of tiny chicks? :dread:

Turned into plane Yoshi. First time the frame rate noticeably stuttered. It wasn't bad but very unnintendo like.

Beat World 5 last night. Hopefully get this game beat at the weekend. Put about 8 hours into it already. Not really worrying too much about collectables at this point. Although the Yoshi designs are just too damn adorable, must try and get them all.

Nothing beats Bunson the Hot Dog. Nothing.

That character needs to have a spin off. He's so adorable

I love the music that plays on the splash screen when you boot up the game

3-5 is another fantastic level :toot:

4-5 needs more love in this thread  :toot:

The music is really cheerful and catchy while the level design itself feels like a woolly take on the minecart levels from Donkey Kong Country. Even the agony of trying, and failing, to collect everything cna't lead to rage in the face of such delightful music.

I've barely scratched the surface of this at just 4 levels in but it's lovely. The fuzz around the wool is just yummy and everything looks lush. Feels like a mix of New Mario and Donkey Kong.

I thought 5-1 was a bit iffy. I liked the first and last parts but the middle... Meh. 5-2 though. Wonderful!

Beat it last night. The level before the last one was great. Mastery of the constipated Yoshi flutter jump required.

I'll talk about my thoughts on it when other people get to the end. It was very good though, presentation was excellent despite some framerate issues. Difficulty wise, it is harder than Yoshi's Island (in my opinion).

4-6 :dread: I spent a ridiculous amount of time there and still miss 2 flowers and five hearts. Kudos to anyone who completes that.

It's an amazing level.

Anyone else finding the checkpointing at points really frustrating?

I definitely enjoyed the structure, i.e. having the curtains reveal shadow platforms, coins and enemies, but it's definitely one of the trickier levels. Funnily enough, I didn't notice any slowdown yesterday but it felt like the game was struggling for a few seconds at one point.

5-1 is putting me close to just trying to get to the finish and come back later with badges to collect items. I've got over 100,000 gems but I want to try to complete the game without using any and save them for 100% completion. The ice blocks in 5-1 require some careful work to get all the gems and avoid a slippery fall.

The checkpoints can be frustrating but I've only been annoyed by them on a couple of levels, including 4-6. I'm hoping that a healthy supply of badges will mitigate their harshness.

Scratch that. I finished it on my first try just now and did well with the collectibles:

5-2 was a really cool level thanks to Yoshi's freeze breath. Sliding enemies to pick up gems and collectibles in tricky areas is a great use of the ice. I couldn't work out what to do for the fifth yarn bundle though.

I enjoyed 5-3 as it reminded me of Alladdin. The sunset background looked beautiful and navigating with rugs made for an interesting challenge.

5-5 and 5-6

5-5 would make a perfect Christmas level. It literally just needed a Christmas tree and some fairy lights. The music there was so joyful :toot: 5-6 also had a great music track and the level is very tricky to navigate. I was trying to find everything but I ended up missing some items, like every other level :slol:

No, it was okay for me, but I wasn't trying to go for 100%. Some critics had the same complaint though. I can imagine it would be annoying if I was trying to get everything.

The curtain level had some bad frame drop when I played it. Good idea for a level anyway.
