That's the third time I've had that response. Funny that I am a Nintendo fanboy!!

Are those traditions still being upheld??? At then end of the day aren't they all in it for the money? Otherwise surely they all would not let so much pap be released.

Thing is they have given us our updates of the big franchises such as the following and they are hardly gooseberry fool!:

Zelda Twilight Princess
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart Wii
Super Paper Mario
Metroid Prime Corruption
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Wario Ware

I have missed out some games and then theres the third party exclusives like no more heroes and resident evil 4 wii edition!

Then theres the various VC releases!

Stop complaining about the casual games as you are not going to buy them anyway!

:fp: to everyone who dumps on nintendo

Zomg, updates for their main franchises, queue complaints about Nintendo milking the cow, whipping a dead horse, etc. etc.

Trust me I know the ruts of this community very, very well.

When you see crap updates like halo 3, fifa and pes i do not think nintendos updates are 'updates' they are much more than that and are consistently of a very high quality and always incorporate different elements every game, so stop the comparing!

Again you seem to be under the illusion that I'm trying to pitchfork Nintendo here. Or that I really care. But in the spirit of healthy debate, I ought to point you in the direction of a tirade of high quality 360 titles that are either original IP or high quality reincarnations of previous games with significant "upgrades", not available on Wii...

Gears of War
GTA IV
Viva Pinata
Bioschock
Crackdown
Dead Rising
Oblivion + Shivering Isles DLC
Call of Duty 4
The Orange Box
Braid (Compare: Wario: The Shake Dimension)
Mass Effect
Forza 2
PGR 2 & 3
GRID
DiRT
Virtua Fighter 5
Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2
Assasin's Creed
Burnout Paradise
Condemned
Skate
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1 but 2 is better
Dead or Alive 4
Kameo
Soulcalibur IV
Fight Night Round 3
Civilization Revolution
Splinter Cell Double Agent
F.E.A.R.
Devil May Cry 4
Battlefield: Bad Company
Unreal Tournament 3
Command and Conquer 3
Tomb Raider: Legend

There are 96 games on 360 rated 80% and above on Gamerankings.com with 20 to over 100 reviews.

Fair enough except the nintendo games i mentioned are true AAA games, the ones you listed are average or just good.

For example name me any games on the 360 and PS3 that can compare to zelda, mario and metroid?

Truth is you cannot because they dont exist!

So what, your argument is that it's somehow Nintendo's fault that third parties have been stiffing the Wii of good games? I'm not sure I follow.

   Holy crap, genuine laugh out loud there. I'll just leave that utterly mental statement to the dogs. I thought maybe you had matured to be capable of rational comparison but after that, wow, what is the point..

It does have some awesome games, but if anything summed up the current situation with the Wii it's that.

Besides, Japan gets Captain Rainbow and Alien Crush Returns this week. :o

Welcome to the PS2, around this time in it's own lifespan.

Of course, gamers didn't report it back then, as they didn't hold a grudge against Sony for daring to be different.

After playing halo 3, it was clearly not a 10, maybe a 6 or 7, the fact is halo 1 owns it

The Wii does have rather silly software, but there's no need to viciously mock it Canton because, after all, Halo 3 should not have been an Edge [10].

No not at all, I'm responding to consolegaming's sentiments that Nintendo's 1st and 2nd party games are so good so those alone make it unfair to favor the 360 in terms of the quantity of quality games on offer. His barking statements above do more to dishonor his comparison than anything I can bother coming up with.

There are to ways of looking at the catalog of a console: the analytical one where for some reason you have sympathy with the corporate under-workings of the industry and for some reason think this is enough to justify your own personal level of satisfaction with the offerings, or you can merely look at what is on offer and say "that's great" or "not worth it", and consider the rest a curious insight into how your plate is served.

Perhaps it is time for me to admit that I am more interested in the latter approach. Sorry, I'm bored of defending company x compared to company y because of interview with CEO z and financial results briefing dd/mm/yyyy. I just want to play fun, involving and absorbing games with at least some long-term value, and the Wii is certainly not offering enough for my personal quality bar and taste when you consider this almost non existent X-mas line-up.
