Thanks, Geck - having spun through that thread, it would appear that beauty truly is in the eyes of the beholder!

I'm pretty taken by the Mega Drive (model 1) and Mega CD (model 1) combo; it's a tad bulky but just exudes style  . In terms of more modern kit, I like simple, sleek designs and, for me, the Wii totally fits that bill.

It's a shame Nintendo made such a bland console for the Wii U, I have the black Wii and it's great.

I kinda have to agree, Gecko. The Wii U base unit is very simlar to the Wii... but with the curved edges it feels like changes were made for the sake of change rather then to be more aesthetically pleasing. The Wii looks almost Apple-like; not quite as cool, but excellent for the price point. It's sleek, svelte and runs very quietly - quite a superb design.

Agreed. I think the Wii looks especially cool on it's side in a stand - it's really unusual design for a console and I love it.

I need to hook mine back up really. I softmodded it with a load of cool emulators and I wouldn't mind playing Castlevania Rebirth again

I think they should have just remodelled it in matte and maybe with some chrome, translucencies or something like that to make it look like an actual upgrade. A bit like the current Switch Pro Controller. The only thing I don't like is the slight tackiness of the gloss, but then PS3 was doing the same thing.

The u should have been square edged, and the cd slot should light up like the Wii, the little white light is just gooseberry fool
