(lovingly stolen from rllmuk)

I'm at the family home for the first time in years this Christmas, so will be playing more than normal. Kinect Sports has become a Christmas tradition, and we'll no doubt play some Mario Party and the new Overcooked 2 DLC.

Also going to replay Mario Galaxy 1&2. Have been meaning to do so for a while, and Christmas seems the perfect time to do it.

So what are your plans?

Spider-Man and Spyro Trilogy on PS4 Pro. Last year it was Mario Odyssey. Christmas day gaming is the best gaming.

Wish my image sig would work

I'm fully addicted to Destiny right now, and have been loving the Dawning event that started last week. My ghost now looks like a snowball, and my ship is what Santa would pilot were he a Chris DeBurgh-esque spaceman.

There's a couple of other games I associate with the season though,

Return to Castle Wolfenstein and its snowy opening level set in the eponymous castle:

Knight of the Old Republic. Got it for Christmas when it released and it became one of my favourite games ever.

Games wot I worked on:
Night Call: Out now!
Rip Them Off: Out now!
Chinatown Detective Agency: 2021!
EXOGATE Initiative: Early Access Summer 2021

Every year I intend to replay Mafia 2 and Fable 2, largely because they have such lovely Christmassy openings. This year I might actually do it, with one of them at least.

My sister will monopolise the Switch from the moment I land at my parents’ to Christmas Day. She adores BotW, but not enough to shell out for a Switch of her own and have to start all over again. So, watching her play BotW it is, and Mario Kart In the evenings with the parents joining in.

I have told the family that Christmas will be ruined if I don’t get Smash on Christmas Day, so that’s my plan from then on.

It's always Nintendo games for me, don't even have to be remotely festive but they have that special something which always gives me the Christmas feels

For some reason metroid has become a Christmas series for me, and I've played each of the prime games for the first time on my Christmas break, currently playing prime 3 for the first time and it feels Christmassy despite being all futuristic and alien.

Donkey Kong country returns is one too, a mate came back for a few days and I'd not seen him for years, so he came round to my flat and we got shitfaced and played through most of that together, it was brilliant. So whenever I play that game, I get proper Christmas feelings.

This year (to save me from tears) I've got the old shitbox Wii U down, and a load of multiplayer games out to play with the wife.

Christmas day arguments will come courtesy of overcooked on the switch and Mario party (because I know she's bought that for me).

Nintendo

I don't do a lot of gaming over Christmas nowdays; I am usually at either my parents or my sisters homes. I will take my 3DS with me and maybe play on that for ten minutes here and there.

On Christmas eve I will do some gaming, though! I might focus on Switch and play some Mario Odyssey and Lets Go!

4 players for Mario Party and (maybe) 8 for Smash (if they bring their controllers, which they better because I told them not to forget)!

Have to admit it still feels a bit nonce-y telling adults to make sure their kids bring their toys along...

I'll be getting a couple of games given to me this year (or so i'm told), so will likely spend all my time playing those.

I always say that I will play something new over the break, but I usually don't manage it. Christmas Day and Boxing day, I spend with my family largely.

I spend my Christmas mainly helping in with the cooking, watching the woeful TV on offer and having a couple too many to drink. When I was younger I spent a lot of it gaming but I very rarely get any games for Christmas now (unless someone is surprising me with one) so now I just tend to continue playing as normal, will probably be Xenoblade Torna DLC this year.

I remember a snowy, Christmas-themed demo of ATR (All Terrain Racing) on the cover of Amiga Format one year. That was arguably peak Christmas gaming for me.

This is the fella:

Not sure if I'll be playing much this year. Possibly some Overcooked 2, or I might dive back into Odyssey.

It'll depend on what I feel like and who's around mine. I'll probably continue with BOTW or play the mini snes if I'm just with Ella, or I'll be playing Mario party if my partner is there.

Sour subject in my household at the moment which I do not wish to discuss.

Does anyone want to buy a copy of Fallout 76 BTW?
