Horizon, robo dinos and design aesthetic, even though I'm not entirely sure what type of game it is yet.

Mario Maker a close second, that game impresses that more I see it.

Mario Maker without a doubt.

I don't get the hype for this at all. Yeah, it looks cool but I don't get all the excitement. It looks like something I'd play for an hour and then never touch again.

That's basically what I thought about it last year.

Have you watched any of the in depth videos showcasing the game?

I love Mario Platformers, I love romhack Mario. Mario Maker is basically an endless supply of additional romhack levels on differing Mario themes and I can make my own too without needing a degree to work out what the strawberry float I'm doing.

I'm going to have to go with MGSV. The trailer really got me more intrigued by the story and the gameplay demo they released makes it look like the best playing MGS yet, it looks brilliant. Best thing, it's out in less than 3 months.

Runner-ups:

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - I loved Human Revolution and based on the gameplay demo, this looks a lot tighter and more enjoyable moment-to-moment. It looks gorgeous and the atmosphere and music appear to be spot on just like its predecessor.
Horizon: Zero Dawn - It's great to see Guerilla getting a chance to make something that isn't Killzone, and the first showing of this was excellent. I was glad to see them actually show gameplay. I love the designs of the creatures and hope we get some awesome boss fights out of them. It's visually stunning too.
Star Wars: Battlefront - The audio just got me, man! It looks so authentic to the films. That Hoth trailer was beautiful.

I'm probably missing a few as there was a lot of cool stuff shown but those instantly stand out to me.

For me it has to be Fallout 4. Closely followed by a tied Rise Of The Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4. I really wanted to see some tomb gameplay from Tomb Raider, and I haven't yet, and the E3 demonstration of Uncharted 4 wasn't to my tastes (I'm not a huge fan of the driving / riding sections in Uncharted, and the other part of the demo seemed very enclosed, and after Tomb Raider I was hoping to see a more open and connected Uncharted; which is more than possible, but just wasn't on display at E3). Xenoblade Chronicles X looks brilliant and SMTxFE (I can't even recall what they're calling it now) looked great too, although I originally assumed it was some horrible RPG rhythm action game hybrid after the Direct trailer, until the Treehouse demonstration sorted things out (although it's looking closer to Persona x Fire Emblem than SMT x Fire Emblem; and yes I'm aware they're connected, but it does look more Persona-y than any core SMT game I've played). The Treehouse stuff has really softened my disdain for Nintendo's E3 after the original Direct.

I could think of at least 6 games immediately, E3 this year kicked ass.
A coin flip between Fallout 4 and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided!

There was a bunch that blew me away this year so it's very hard to choose one game of the show but my heart says FFVII and my mind says Horizon.

Firewatch stood out the most to me. I'd not heard of it before but have since watched an old gameplay video and it looks every bit as good as the E3 trailer suggests.

After catching up with a lot more vids, I'd still have to say Fallout 4.

Just so many different ways you could spend time in that world without even touching the main storyline. Truly a scary game in terms of scope and one I'm willing to give myself over to completely.
