Going to have to try an Old Fashioned. Seems to be a fave of quite a few. On the other hand, why spoil a good whisky with anything other than a single block of ice?!

My thoughts exactly! Until I had a good Old Fashioned, theyre great, try em.

there's no coke in a Godfather: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godfather_(cocktail)

I'd take that wiki with a bit of doubt.

They mention using scotch whisky. No, it has to be American bourbon (JD in this country due to popularity). Plus the Italian Disaronno - making it an Italian-american drink.

I've only ever seen these described with coke as a mixer, not neat. I imagine it wouldn't be very nice without coke.

Maybe they could use irish whiskey instead, and call it The Cascarino.

I'm a big fan of a Dark & Stormy, nice and easy to make and very drinkable.

It must be ginger beer and not ginger ale. I hate it when places serve a dark and stormy with ginger ale :x . It's especially nice with fiery ginger beer.

My other choices are equally simple:

Cuba Libre
Espresso Martini
Moscow Mule

I very fairy drink classic cocktails and will see what unique things are on the menu, will always be something citrusy and never sweet.

I've only ever known them to be neat.

They were also a contributing factor to me throwing up at a wedding. The other factor being the smell coming from the bathroom stall left by the obese man leaving as I entered.

Vodka Martini (citrus fruit not olives pls)
Long Island Iced Tea
Corona Rita

Move down the list depending on how classy you need to look
