And I bet when you ask him to find something in the cupboard, he takes a cursory glance and says he can't find it.

We only do it cos we love you.

Inevitably, the day came when sufficient rainfall had seen to it that his route to work was completely cut off and, being faced with losing a days pay but also mindful of the sick pay scheme, my dad rang his boss and told him that he couldn't come into work as he was having trouble passing water.

"I won't be in today, I can't find my car in the fog."

It was parked at the end of the road outside his house.

Other gems include a suspected broken leg (in work the next day), Hayfever (late January), amnesia and hernia in the heart.

Gastric Arthritis is another fave of mine.

The year with the bad snowfall, a colleague of mine said he couldn't make it in because he was snowed in and couldn't leave his house. This guy lived in the same area as me, it was one of the few areas that had very little snowfall.

I arrived into work with no problems and inadvertently landed him in it.

Girl where I work will call in sick if she does not get a full 8 hours sleep. This happens a few times a month, she is also an agency worker, i'm convinced the only reason she is still around is that she's one of the few members of staff that has tits (female tits at least). Other people say the boss 'saves up' agency workers he wouldn't mind losing, so when he gets told he's gotta cut down on staff he has someone ready for the chop. She also stands around doing not much (in a freezer!) then complains about being cold.

Hangover illnesses are the most pathetic though, I think you should either take responsibility and not get in that state before work, or if your not capable of this, take responsibility and deal with the pain and not be such a pussy.

I was supposed to be off tonight, but at 2:30am last night supervisor asks me to come in tonight, I kinda was already looking forward to this day off, and we left it like... he wants me to come in but I said I might not. Still dunno whether or not too. All cos someone else has gone sick. Bastards! I wouldn't have minded if they hadn't waited until a few hours before I was due to start my weekend.

A lad at our place phoned in with the 'snowed in' excuse. I heard later form a workmate in the same village that he'd spent part of the morning helping his neighbour dig his car out so he could get to work.

When I worked in Quasar this kid once came out of the arena with a massive piss stain down his trousers. His excuse was "I was playing the game and I felt I needed the toilet so I started running for the toilet and I fell over and I weed myself..."

I got caught with weed at school and I told my parents that a guy at a pub I went to (underage) gave me it for free and told me if I wanted any more to contact him. They bought it. :slol: I used to smoke most weekends
