I actually think i cried from disappointment afterwards.

I had a similar experience with Primal Rage when i finally got a Mega Drive in 1996. You've no idea the crushing sense of disappointment when you finally get to play a game that has for years seemed like it was the coolest god damn hot gooseberry fool on the block, but you could never play it because you were stuck with an obsolete home computer from 1989, only to finally play it and realize it isnt just bad, its an sin against god. Same goes for Shadow of the Beast. I wanted that game SO. BAD. Then i finally got a copy of the Mega Drive version only to realize it was actual, literal dogshit.

I feel your pain. The 80s were a terrible era for the boxart of games building you up for a terrible gaming experience.

I think that's back with a vengeance in the mobile gaming sphere. I don't mind watching the odd advert to boost something in a game, but when you actually pay attention some of them are just outright lies. Any advert for a game that follows the [COMBAT VERB] of [NOUN] naming convention is almost certainly a completely fraudulent representation of what to expect of you download it.

Giving GTA Online a try gave it 2 trys first time figuring it out etc 2nd time driving around minding my own business low xp. When 2 Mexican retards decide to randomly attack and kill for me endlessly for 5 mins respawn kill etc i quit never played GTA Online since.

I made the same mistake with Primal Rage, rather fortunately I lent it to some kid at school in exchange for Psycho Pinball (superb game btw) and the mad bastard ended up refusing to swap back so I just ended up keeping a much better game.

The handful of FPSs that gave me motion sickness. It's no fun when something you're otherwise enjoying makes you physically ill (that's what she said), and it's too late once you realise it's happening.

Clustertruck ( and technically Suicide Guy,or any hastily ported unity3D game ) on Switch.

While you can feel the game can be pretty enjoyable,and even if it's very simple,a good time burner,well,the engine was very very poorly optimized.
Instead of being like 60 or atleast a solid 30 fps,it's an uncapped framerate that goes all over the place even when there's nothing on screen. And after seeing all of these videos online of the other console versions and even the PC which looked pretty smooth.. I was very disappointed. Just 10 bucks,but 10 bucks of disappointment.
I'm not gonna try Human Fall flat for now,I think haha.

Not worst ever but my memory is awful so I'll say Fortnite. I'm probably just getting old and curmudgeonly but I simply didn't get it and had no fun whatsoever.

GTA Online is amazing with friends but a bit of a gooseberry fool show with strangers.

I only tried GTA: Online a couple of times too, and on both occasions, every time i found some other players, they either ran me over or shot me without any provocation.

For me the few times i have gave Online a try pathetic losers like that ruin it for people in the long run just because they are obsessed with gaining Xp etc. To show off because they think it makes them look important, superior when in fact they just come across as twats doing so.

watchdogs comes to mind, played through it all, don't think I really enjoyed any of it

Maybe I’m just a bit gooseberry fool but I found the relentless difficulty of Ninja Gaiden on XBOX no fun at all. One of the worst bits is the Alma fight where due to the awful camera you get strawberry floated up by attacks you can’t even see coming.

I always found the jump between the standard gameplay and the boss fights to be insane. The normal gameplay isn't too hard and I found it pretty fun. The boss fights were just grueling and definitely stopped being fun after the 20th attempt.

It was the original Dark Souls but harder.

I loved Primal Rage but then, I don't think I ever played it, I just watched someone else play it, which probably explains it.

I'm fairly proud of myself for almost finishing Ninja Gaiden, my disability wasn't quite as hindering back then but I still had difficulty with 'hard' games that required fast reflexes.

Think I got as far as the bit with the weird flying fish things before it became too much for me.

Off the top of my head, my most recent-ish disappointments were Mafia 3 and Just Cause 3. Mafia 3 because upon playing it I realised I wanted a more direct sequel than I even realised, and JC3 because omfg those load times were *horrendous*.

I had a similar experience, which normally went one of several ways, either A: dying within 30 seconds of landing B: getting sniped from the top of a nearby hill C: surviving until the top 15 or so by simply never seeing another player until coming across someone with all the gear and who can drop down a massive tower in a matter of seconds. After a couple of goes at this I had not experienced a single moment of enjoyment and the whole thing can be summed up as:

I didn't actively hate it, and I can see why it's the cultural behemoth it is, but it was definitely not fun and not something I care to repeat, regardless of the game which puts a different title on it.
