Your longest ever relationship?

Nothing to write anything substantial about here. Life gets in the way, personal circumstances and stuff like that.

Most recently I've focused getting my life on track. Between University and my jobs I've lived in 5 different places since 2015 (Birmingham, my hometown, Glasgow, Reading and now Southampton), which along with a lack of any significant hobbies makes it very difficult to put roots down and settle somewhere. I'm a little more stable in life now so might end up getting into something soon but honestly I don't really care. I'm very happy being single so it's not very important to me.

Nothing since I've left school (which has been a very quick feeling 7 years now!), even at school it was never anything serious, a few months at most. Saying that I've yet to actually meet anyone I could see myself with for the long term (who has been single at the same time anyway), guess it helps that I'm pretty happily single and not really looking for anything currently, if it happens it happens and if it doesn't it doesn't, not overly fussed either way to be honest.

My girlfriend and I are coming up on ten years in May.

Literally never had one. There have always been few things less appealing to me than dating a guy, so I've been fine with that. Apparently my level of self-awareness is shit-tier. I don't see things changing any time soon though.

Four years was the longest and I can't see myself getting into another relationship.

I think my longest proper relationship before that was a couple of months. I once was in a long distance relationship that lasted about a year, but as I barely ever saw her it doesn’t really count.

20 months. Before that, 3 months. Generally I'm not very good at connecting, but we're doing alright at this one.

Been with the wife for over 10 years and married for almost a year and a half. Never had another (proper) relationship as we got together in school.

I'll have been married 6 years this April 15th.

My longest is my current relationship and it will be 11 years in May, we meet a few days after his 19th birthday (I was 22) and he had a girlfriend that he lived with at his mums house, obviously as soon as he meet me he fell in love with me, we had something to eat, went for a walk and ended up staying out all night in my car, in the morning I dropped him off so he could go to work and he ended it with his girlfriend (she tried everything to get him back and didn’t move out!) and since that day we meet each other every single day and ended up getting a place together within a couple of months. I don’t know how much longer it will last but I suppose no one does

Before that I had short term relationships that tended to be on and off that fitted around what I was doing at the time, some I had real feelings for and some were just sex really

I haven't had a serious relationship because I have a fear of emotional attachment and dependency. Oops.

I thought you were about the same age as me (almost 30). Have you been with the same girl since your mid-teens? :shock:

I was on and off with a girl over a seven year period. This one is just over five years now (married a week and a half ago).
