So I've hauled my XBox to my mum's today to have a bit of a Rock Band session between exam marking. Put on a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival that has an excessive tapping section wherein I had to press the A buttom rhythmically 620 times in order to get the best score on the song, and after 616 perfect taps my internet connection dropped, the XBox signed me out and froze the song just long enough for me to miss tap no. 617.

My rage filled screams have terrified the dog into running off somewhere and I haven't seen him since.

What is your most frustrating gaming moment?

My brother accidentally corrupted my Red Dead Revolver save when I was at the very, very end. Not a huge deal in retrospect, but I was so pissed off at the time. There might have been some residual stress involved from the Tower of Blades in God of War, which I was playing around the same time.

Most recently the punch out artist training in Yakuza 0 but overall it has to be losing a 150+ hour FFVII save file when a cheap memory card went corrupt on me.

I put my fist through the dividing wall beside me when the shitty Destiny matchmaking dropped my connection for the third match in a row when I was playing well and logging very high KDR's.

I am usually very good at containing myself but Destiny always brought out the monster in me and after months of pain I finally broke.

Rock Band related, I was trying to master Vaseline by Stone Temple Pilots - a song I hate and struggled to play - and after dropping one too many notes I picked up and threw the drum kit across the room, breaking it in half.

When I was so angry when I was playing Geometry Wars 2 in person with Rubix78 that I punched a window and smashed the double glazing, thus cutting my hand open in the process.

Yeah, I had anger issues when I was younger

I dunno about most but most but recently having to farm for vials in Bloodborne. So strawberry floating stupid.

I don't tend to get physically violent, mostly just seething anger or abuse-laden outbursts (Hi Mario Kart!).

The one that frustrated me the most was playing through Half-Life 2: Episode 2 to get the Gnome achievement. Took quite a while as the guy was a pain in the arse to keep track of sometimes. The worst segment is the car chase, where the physics cause him to fly out of the vehicle at the slightest knock. Lots of reloading, and trying again.

Finally got him to the end of the game, loaded him into the Rocket and finished it off. Only for the achievement to not unlock.

As I'd already played through the game a couple of times I decided to mix going for the achievement, with having the commentary nodes on. Having these on apparently disables achievements. I did not know this.

Dropship on PS2 - hardest game I've ever played, as a younger man this nearly broke me.

I had a cheap unofficial memory card for PS1 that corrupted on the third disc of my first playthrough of FFVII.

I remember having to explain to my mum why I was crying and her not understanding the gravitas of any of it.

Meat Circus in Psychonauts. Tried it numerous times. Ended up turning the game off and never returning to it. It was gooseberry fool.

I had about 44/65 Timesplitters 2 platinum medals only to be foiled by a dodgy memory card.

Mine was one of those massive ones which compressed the data so you could store loads of saves. I later learned they were notorious for corrupted data.

Came here to post this exact thing. There has never been nor ever will be anything as utterly soul destroying and rage inducing. I was literally screaming till my voice went and shaking with rage! Broke my controller by throwing it and I'm normally careful about not damaging things

I was there just a couple of weeks ago. It was a bit tricky, but not that bad.

The thing with frustrating moments is that I am too stubborn to quit. I will not be beaten by a game. So the frustration is always wiped away by the relief at having overcome it. It's why I love/hate Cuphead.

Nearly gave myself an aneurysm.

Call of Duty 4's Epilogue on Veteran - Mile High. Never got it and stayed on 980/1000 for that game. Even used to do it with a YT video open alongside so I could check my timings. Always died or ran out of time

Nowadays my most frustrating moment is usually what I'm currently playing. My patience is not what it once was!

The vast majority of Jak II. The difficulty of that game was quite bizarre. Did it, somehow.
