It was like:

"WHAAAAAATTT????!!!"
"MEEEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGAAAAAAATTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNN"
"OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG"
*trailer finishes rolling*
"Oh, online. "

This. It was the only moment I actually went "What?" out loud. Then by the end of the trailer I was completely "meh". Quickest turnaround of excitement of any E3 announcement.

The Sony Waggle Wand was also a highlight, but not for the reasons Sony intended. The guys presenting it just looked so embarrassed to be there.

Thinking that NSMB Wii was going to be the only "core" announcement at the Nintendo conference. Then those last 10 minutes...

The MGS Peace Walker Trailer, was very good.
Also the FFXIV announcement as I wasn't expecting that at all, a little downer at the end because it was online though.

Even he has to be right once.

Mine were Alan Wake which looked amaze. Halo Reach being Bungie which pleased me as I feared ODST would be their last.

The Perfect Dark 1080p/60FPS MEGATON

The Last Guardian trailer. Haven't seen anything more evocative, or emotional or simply more full of promise than this.

Can someone tell me what the 'video games council' thing is..?

Steven Spielberg (I think, was it?) fumbled his words and said something about people owning a videogame "council" (instead of "console", obviously)

Best moment for me was Bungie's Halo: Reach announcement - like Rik, I didn't think they'd be doing another one.

The Last Guardian probably would've equalled it had I not already seen the leaked trailer. That doesn't stop it being a great trailer for (likely) one of the best games of the generation, but it wasn't necessarily a great "E3 moment".

Hmmf, dunno. There's not much that's met my expectations. Resi Portable announced but no footage. MGS for home consoles but is it 360 and PS3? And what does it look like? Still no GT5 release date. FF14 announced but online. Microsoft & Sony both revealed new control systems but no actual games for them or timescales.

I guess Uncharted 2 is my highlight, and think that 360 owners have a treat coming up with Alan Wake.

The silly neighbourhood vegetable.

You do surprise me, Sprouty. I always had you down as a diehard Sony fanboy, but that seems to be a very well-reasoned and balanced post.
