So it looks like "some viewers" have the majority say. These Hollywood problems piss me right off.

Here you go:
We are currently experimenting with how to show content in the subs feed. We find that some viewers are able to more easily find the videos they want to watch when we order the subs feed in a personalized order vs always showing most recent video first.

Why not just give people the option of how they want their feed to display?

Because then Youtube wouldn't have as much ability to (un)subtly influence the behaviour and watching habits of their users.

I'm actually surprised that strawberry floating Facebook of all people are basically the only ones that let you do this.

youtube :fp:
its incredible how they can consistently choose the wrong choice when confronted with two choices, or even make up a new bad decision on the spot e.g. not always displaying videos from some of your subscriptions, depending on some random algorithm :fp:

You have the home tab for curation, leave the subs tab the strawberry float alone.

Can see a lot of low and mid-tier content creators being affected by this if it rolls out for everyone. It’ll be like when Instagram changed to the algorithm timeline and you had people on there begging for people to turn on notifications because so many of their posts were being missed and their views and likes went down.

I subscribe to channels on YT specifically so I can see their latest stuff when I get on there.

This is the opposite of what would benefit me.

Precisely, every day have a look through and grab the latest video to watch when I can...

A random order is just stupidity, as it has been on all the other media things that have done likewise...

Can’t be that, YouTube is owned by Google who have the motto “don’t be evil”.

You'd have to say that any company that has to remind themselves not to be evil in their motto, is probably inherently evil in the first place.
