They only upgraded YouTube this week and already a fair few HD vids.

Not quite 720, but close, also you need to manually add &fmt=22 to the end of URL links to get them to play in HD.

You need to add &fmt=22 at the end of the youtube link to get high quality.

Shame that makes it run at about 1fps on my machines.

It doesn't work if you embed them, you have to go to youtube.com. Also I don't think it's quite 720p but it's certainly higher than what it was.

You need to press the "watch in high quality" link, THEN hit the full screen option.

It's not in HD, no. The content itself certainly might be, but it isn't playing it back in High Def.

Watched in the standard ratio though, the quality is very good.

Was going to post this but thought it was a bit too Cyburny so didn't.

Good to see they're doing it, I often visit Vimeo just for their HD channel.

That man does not look good in HD. He looks like a CG render of himself.

Doesn't look that bad on mine KK, at 1680x1050 (I'm assuming that'll make a difference).

Does graphics card make a difference? I know it does with HD Films.

If 720p is 1280x720, and I'm running at 1280x1024, why aren't the videos the full length of my screen? And if I fullscreen it I lose quality.

Even the stereo sound makes such a huge difference, though.

Because they run that resolution inside a smaller area, I'm not sure how.

Or something.

They're just SD (definitely not 720P) but it's still a big improvement over the normal youtube quality.

Edit: The videos are 640x360 which is a quarter the resolution of 720P.

They look nice...but not as large as the example image in the original post. Am I doing something wrong? I've got the "&fmt=22" gubbins at the end of the address...

That's a resized of a full screen shot.

Or a small monitor, you lose scale on a biggish monitor.

Could that be because your full screen image is 1466x700, which is wider and shorter than 720p's 1280x720?
The jaggies are surely from it having to stretch and squash?
