Is this a new thing? I've never seen it do this before.

First I have heard of this. Is it done through Youtube or the Google Play market?

I'm not passing judgements.

Really i was just looking for one particular exchange in the episode to illustrate a point. Was curious about the behavior though since I'd never seen it before, but that certainly isn't the same thing as it being new behavior.

I do kinda have the whole thing on DVD, though.

it was on Windows, but i couldn't follow the link through - something about google plus linking.
(Channels linked with a Google+ page can't make purchases on YouTube.
To watch this video, you'll need to switch to your other account.)

I would assume that it redirects to google play, though.

I'd rather tried to sell me something than asking me for umpteenth time if this is the account I want to use.

The full seasons are substantially cheaper, but the box set on disc is still by far the cheapest option.

I don't know, if they manage to upload TV shows that they made in the 1700's, I think they are more than entitled to charge a few quid. ;)

Actually, I think that'll be google play as well, so as long as it's not a rental, it'll be a one-off fee.

It's not so much that they're charging you: They're just using Youtube as an avenue to sell Google Play content. Just a bit jarring the first time it happens. Not used to Youtube asking me for money.

edit: Oh, the cheeky bastards: It defaults to rental for £2.49. Buying it costs £8. That's going to cause trouble if you let your kids go on Youtube, mark my words.
