Probably a dull question, but what do people reckon?

You'll also get a lot more functionality app-wise with the Moto G than the Z10 with the latter being a Blackberry and the former being Android.

Yeah, it's not really sensible to back a horse ratcheting up a decent losing streak. Moto G seems to be the sensible choice. Ta chaps.

I too am planning to go for the Moto G. Need a budget phone. Was also considering the Nokia 520. Quite fancy something with a different OS to my Nexus 7. Just for a change.

But the good reviews for the Moto G are overwhelming.

My dad has one, and I'm surprised how good it is for the price. I'd use it.

That's pretty much how I ended up looking at the Z10. I know I'm just wanting change for change's sake though, so I'm quelling the urge.

If you got the Z10 you'd probably find yourself wanting to change back pretty quickly. If you like the massive variety of apps/functionality that you can get from Android then a Blakberry really isn't going to be for you.
Windows Phone has a good variety, though it's still playing catch up to Android. Definitely closing the gap bit by bit though.

The problem with the Z10 is that it is a blackberry

I have had the joy of using one for a while and found it lacking in some areas, mostly apps and the fact that the youtube "app" justn takes you to the webpage.
Although it was and probably still is the best feeling handset with the best touchscreen keyboard. Seriously if that gooseberry fool was android it would be the best phone in the world.

pros: nice feeling, cool interface, lovely clock and ACE keyboard! (changes the key sensor area as you type for more accurate typing, plus instead of pausing and tapping the predictive text you can just swipe it up from on the keyboard. I am shitting you not I am practically gay for this keyboard)

cons: blackberry OS, poor app selection and overall too little to late :(

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

The Z10 also has a really cool camera feature where it takes a few shots and then allows you to pick the best faces from the individual photos and stitch them altogether.

Apparently works surprisingly well.

I think if you said lumia 520 or 620 or Moto G then it would be a lot closer. Honestly dont know why anyone would pick a bb at this point its a terrible choice. I love my 1520 so of course im going to say nokia and id say have a serious look at them there very good for the price and the 8.1 update will make them even better.

The moto g on the other hand i have to admit is very nice my mate has got one and its a lot of phone for the money. 2 things that do annoy me are that it has no SD slot so 8gb or 16 is it and its not 4g which i admit neither do the nokias but you could spend slightly more and get a 625 which does or even a 920 at this point

I live in Wales. 4G isn't a must-have search criteria for me.

My mum's got a Lumia 520. It seems solid, but I'm not hugely taken with Windows Phone itself.
