PostZP2K9 - The hidden gem of XNA.
by more heat than light » Wed Apr 29, 2009 1:00 pm

Just been flicking through the latest issue of Xbox World 360 and noticed they have reviewed all the XNA Community Games. I'll be honest, I haven't really had much interest in these games (no achievements right?) but one in particular caught my eye. This game was the highest rated from the magazine feature, and was described like this...

Awesome 2D Deathmatch. It lets you walk on the ceiling while firing a rocket launcher at your samurai sword waving rival. Why don't we all gang up and make a concerted effort to turn ZP2K9 into the multiplayer hit it deserves to be?

So anyway, I thought I'd have a go. And it's ridiculously good, better than most Live Arcade titles. It's a bit like Small Arms, only bigger, better and much more fun. Having only played against bots so far I can already see the potential this game has to be a multiplayer riot over Live. And the best news of all? It's just 200 points.

If you haven't already, I emplore you all to try the free trial to give this game a chance. If a few of us folks get it I can imagine it being lots of fun.

Someone needs to remake Extreme Violence for XNA.

Jigdoku is the real hidden gem. Though I haven't actually played it yet.

Loves us all since 2008
