did this series just suddenly pick up in the last couple of episodes (i don't think i've seen ep.7 but i'm guessing the links on here are ahead of the showings on sky?)? i thought the first few were a bit 'meh' but since the arena episode it's dialled it back up to 11.

one thing i was wondering, is what (if anything) they would have done with the character/actor for Gannicus if Andy Whitfield (RIP) hadn't gotten ill and forced them to do the 'prequel'?
