I have this in some of the boss battles, the camera wouldn't move fast enough or go quite where I wanted and j would subsequently die because I could not see where the strawberry floater was to shoot him or whatever.

Was made better though when I found the focus button to sort of focus in a target.

Focus button? I used to rely on the L-trigger focus thing to orient me more during boss battles but it doesn't seem to work the same as previous Zelda's, or maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Yeah thats the fella, it isn't 100% but it is pretty good for keeping in the rght direction :D

I genuinely am baffled by how people have so few koroks. I had near 300 by the time I got 120 shrines with no real effort made to look for them. They're just /everywhere/.

You get to a point pretty quickly with them where you see them all over but just can't be bothered to actually go and do the thing to get the seed.

At least that's how it went for me.

Arrgh, got to 100 shrines and I can't find any more. I've had to resort to turning on the shrine detector thing. Anyone else had to do this? No, just me? Arrgh....

Think I had it turned on throughout my entire playthrough.

Looking forward to getting back into the game when the DLC drops in the week. Not sure if I should go straight in to Master Mode or play the Trial of the Sword first.

That's a relief! Thank you Hugo.

Once I read how many there were (this was very early on) and what the reward for getting them all was I didn't bother collecting any more. There was no point. I'm not going to spend 1000 hours with the game finding them so why bother. I think I finished the game with less than 30.

I do the easy ones. Ones under stones, stone circles etc but any of the demanding ones or ones that make you use precious arrows, nah. Still done around 300 though.

It's fun

Nintendo are going to be doing blogs daily for the countdown to DLC Pack 1

You never need more than two or three shield and bow slots and it doesn't take long to get enough weapon slots to never have to bother with them again.

And I'd counter the "it's fun" comment with "it's really not."

I've been getting back into this recently. Finally killed my second divine beast and have been exploring the top left of the map. Fun, but that shrine sensor really doesn't help in that area at all. strawberry float I wasted so much time finding something that wasn't anywhere near where I was looking.

Started this today.... Wow. It's genuinely beautiful, best open fields ever.

I've left the opening area, done two more shrines and gone on loads of random wanders.

Any tips on what to do first?

Absolutely magnificent stuff so far. The scale is daunting and the game tells you nothing. It's old school stuff and it lets the player have their own adventure.

Enemy camps are so good. I had a huge pitched battle and was running around for ages dropping bombs and fighting for my life on one of them.

Wish my image sig would work

Played this all day today despite being in a bit of a state.

There is so much I love about this game, the craft that has gone into the world, the way that all the systems link together and have a purpose and having the compulsive open world collectable stuff but still having a great story driven main quest with unique puzzles and enemies.

However, there are things about it that make me long for a classic Zelda. The weapon durability stuff is making me run past fights incase I waste all my good gear, the one hit kill enemies are making my piss boil and the lack of 'proper' dungeons really starts to show after a while.

Still can't wait to play more though.

Explore, don't worry getting caught up in where the game is directing you, just climb a hill or lookout post, see something in the distance and go have an adventure letting yourself be distracted on the way. This is where the game shines the most. Some areas in the game I regret only discovering a few 10s of hours before I 100%ed it.

If you find weapon durability an issue, I suggest collecting Korok Seeds.

I added about 10 sword slots and never needed more than the 4 shield or bow slots you start out with for the entire game.

The first few times, yeah. Doing the same few minigames over and over got old very quickly.

The mini game despite being entertaining themselves aren't the most fun aspect of searching for Koroks. Exploring the environment, being led down side paths, climbingan out of the way hill and being rewarded for it is what's fun. Given how many different types of puzzle there are as well I'd say even across 900 of the things the only ones that ever really get boring in any way are the rock shapes.

You can play the game the way you choose and do the things you find most entertaining, and if in doing that you got a few hundred Koroks and then just kind of gave up on them, then fair enough. But if you've dug out less than 50 and are crying 'this aspect of the game is boring' and stopping, then you're missing out on a lot of the great stuff that's packed into the world.
