Cancelled my pre-order for the Hori wired controller and just went with a Splatoon Pro controller. Don't think it would be a good idea having a wire traipse across the floor with a 3 year old running around.

Good call, Kj - the Pro is quite expensive but it is an excellent controller.

Got the pro pad. The sticks feel very accurate and the huge face buttons are nice but the dpad is mushy and kinda average.

Never thought I'd say this but Xbox has the best dpad this gen, nice and clicky.

That depends if the Vita counts as current gen

Yes! The Fallout Mash-up pack has just been made available for Switch Minecraft! I've never tried Minecraft but this could be the thing that gets me into it... I love the idea of getting creative with Fallout! I'm ready for a Nuka Cola on the blocks :toot:

Think I'm going to have to send in my joycon, Splatoon is borderline unplayable at times when the left one just suddenly stops working for a few seconds. It's bad enough in single player but the online....
So now I have to choose between either being unable to use my Switch for several weeks, or cough up 50 quid for a Pro controller which from looking at Neogaf is another risk in itself as a sizeable chunk of them have the inputs on the d-pad incorrect (so up registers as left and other weird combinations). All because Nintendo decided to save about 2p per unit on producing the joycon.

That they aren't at least compensating people who send in busted joycons with a few quid of store credit or something is an utter strawberry floating disgrace.

Seems to be somewhat hit and miss. And the self-fix if you have it is to disassemble the controller and put some scotch tape partially over the contacts.

I was tempted to pick up a new left Grey Joycon from GAME then returning it my old one. Any ideas how you can tell if the Joycons are the fixed versions at all? Serial number?

Sadly not, somebody at the end of the thread was saying they were having the issues with the Splatoon one as well I think.

As with anything, the complaints online about something like this will always outweigh anything 'positive' because you don't hear from the thousands upon thousands of others whose Pro Pads are all working fine. Anyone's on here had any problems like those reported in that gaf thread?

Mine has the dpad issue. I have no idea how prevalent it is.

I will be trying that tape fix though. Looks much simpler than another fix I was going to try.

My standard Pro seems to be okay... I've used it for an hour on Splatoon tonight and it all seemed to work as it should.
