Don't worry Seven - it's apparently the in thing to begrudge Rare their status as one of the N64's top developers.

Blast Corp, B-K, GoldenEe, JFG, Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Dy and DKR were all excellent titles and stood out in the N64's game library.

I really liked DK64 but can see why people hate it, and never got around to buying Mickey's Speedway (it's something I've always thought about nabbing from eBay).

A lot of these games may be flawed now, but they are largely flaws that blighted a lot of the early N64/3D games, which people have exaggerated with hindsight.

Saying these games were terrible in 1998-odd, is just silly though.

EDIT - Heck, Viva Pinata, Trouble in Paradise and Nuts and Bolts are all great too.

Banjo and Goldeneye were great. The others weren't as hot, but still better than pretty much everything else for the console.

Even Nintendo took their foot off the pedal post-Ocarina.

Perfect Dark is miles better than every game you've just listed there.

What Goat said: Banjo for your adventure needs, DKR for your racing needs, PD for your shooting needs. You don't need to memorize all those games with Rare, all that precious brain space can be used to memorize the locations of silver coins in DKR and the bits of cheese in PD. 8-)

I like DK64 far more than around roughly 98% of people. The main complaint people seem to have is it being a so called "collectathon", and whilst there is a fair bit to find in the game, that side of things never bothered me. I got it for Christmas shortly after its release and I was a very happy lad.

The atmosphere in... in ... you know, that level with the two super-deep bays and the pirate ships was something special.

Diddy Kong Racing - Hardly played
Banjo-Kazooie - Hardly played (but enjoyed what I did play of it)
Donkey Kong 64 - Ditto BK
Banjo-Tooie - Never played
Killer Instinct Gold - Never played
Jet Force Gemini - Loved it but never got to complete it because I gave up on the Tribal hunt :(
Mickey's Speedway USA - Never played
Conker's Bad Fur Day - Amazing
Blast Corps - Barely played

You need to remedy these. Project64 is your friend.
