Very long duration of this gen has meant that it undeniably has the greatest selection of games ever known for one machine, deserved win.

Oh God, here we go...

But it doesn't. If that's the criteria this is going to be ranked on, the selection of games is nowhere near that of the PS2.

10 PC

And I'm no PC gamer, but this is blatantly absurd.

Pretty sure the PC has more quality games than the 360. God these lists are dumb.

Indeed! And the ZX Spectrum has even more still. Although it doesn't hold up so well in retrospect the Speccie was absolutely awesome in its time. So much more invention than most the stuff these days.

How on earth do you justify putting a console that cooks it's own guts and dies at number one?

Best games

...the Xbox 360 has seen more in six years than any other games machine to date. In many ways a summation of everything else in this list, and no matter what follows it, the Xbox 360 will stand the test of time as the console that, more than any other machine, gave gaming to all the people , all the time

That's how they finish the article

As the feature set & games on the Playstation 3 & 360 are so similar (probably more so than any other console prior) I can only presume the massive gulf between them in the list is for Xbox Live & the controller.

GamesTM is an absolute travesty of a magazine. Why do people still buy it? Half the time I think they make the decisions they do just to 'incite debate'.

I cancelled my sub at the beginning of December but I still received the last two issues.

I also changed my Edge sub to digital format and have hardly ever read it since as the god-awful reader software which they force upon you is so gooseberry fool.

I would have the same number one but Dreamcast and N64 would make up the rest of the top three, Saturn would be in the top ten for me.
