Probably just let go the temps at Guerilla, as they were working on a launch game for the PS4.

Evolution probably need to claw back some money after spending so long on Drive Club?

SCE London? What ever did they do?

Santa Monica probably suffer from poor sales and Sony looks at them as a fading star?

Presumably the same thing that's happening across the globe. Nobody has got any money so drastic cuts need to be made.

Doesn't Shadow work for Evolution?

Hope he's OK.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Already had these cutbacks back when they merged all of their studios in Japan Studio.

So you're saying there's not going to be another Playstation All-Stars?

Microsofts Killer Instinct team or Iron Galaxy are his most likely destination I guess.

Don't know and couldn't care less.

Also, DriveClub's game director Col Rodgers has left Evolution Studios. But that was back in February.

Lead writer Amy Hennig left last month, despite the suspicions of personal incompatibilities, her reason for going could have been innocuous enough. However the game director leaving just weeks later definitely suggest something is going on behind the scenes. But how could this golden child that was the Uncharted production become troubled?

There is a famousmortimer post on page 18 of the GAF thread (he is being quoted from earlier in the thread) of this latest departure. Attempts to explain the the layoffs and leavings beyond Hmm. Something MUST be going on at Sony Studios.

tl;dr edition of his post: Stig's game was gooseberry fool and burned money like no tomorrow, was obviously never going to be released, team laid off and Stig was offered a job elsewhere in Santa Monica, which he declined. Meanwhile in Naughty Dog, Amy Hennig and Justin Richmond doesn't like the way Uncharted 4 is going. Amy walks, Justin gets moneyhatted by Riot. At Guerilla Cambridge, they were making a Vita game. Apparently it was crap, so it was canned, and people was laid off as they refocus on their next project. Finally, Driveclub's director was replaced due to the game getting delayed.

Would add, apparently:
- Stig's game already cost shy of $100m, got canned and was offered a position but not as director, so he left
- Amy lost creative control

Lots of mismanagement going on there. $100 million wasted on that game, wow.

I presume none of this is actually going to effect the games though right?
