Why are England games so boring? Did those matches against Brazil and Scotland not happen?
They're literally just about the only 2 I can think of recently that have bordered on exciting. I went to Wembley and watched England somehow beat Spain 1-0, and that was only not so boring because we beat the world champions. The actual game was pretty awful.
I'll quote myself from earlier:
I said a few months ago during an England game and I'll say it again; watching England play doesn't feel like watching normal football. There's usually a lot less shots on goal, more scrappy play in the middle of the park and it generally just looks a half-arsed effort. Thoroughly unenjoyable.
England games don't look like any kind of football that I watch, be it PL on the telly, Pompey down Fratton Park or two other half-decent international teams. It's so dull and such a chore to get a result against a team that isn't completely gooseberry fool, and it's down to more than just the management, although I think it's a contributing factor. The players just don't give a strawberry float. They look so much less interested than when playing for their club sides. Maybe it's the fact the crowd aren't made up of die-hard season ticket holders who go to every game, making as much noise as possible. Maybe it's the lifestyle of the footballer and the touch of arrogance they have. Whatever it is, it's got to change. We're getting left behind in world football and it's starting to become embarrassing.
Sounds what you really need is a sense of humour.
