Ooh, yeah. The most I've ever done is head to the nearest lift and go to a nearby ward. It would seem simple to me.
I'd hate to get lost in a hospital, but it seems like something that could always happen.

I was thinking earlier how there different standards for nursing staff compared to doctors. Doctors would never be questioned for sitting down (so long as they’re working) but most places I’ve been to in general hospitals have standing desks for nursing staff. It’s seen as wrong for us to sit, gives the impression that we’re lazy or skiving or something apparently. Also, our uniforms have to be proper, ironed and neat yet doctors swan about in ill fitting scrubs pulled out the laundry. strawberry floating two degrees privledge. I’m working longer hours, and doing more physical Labour. Let me sit for five.

Whenever I escort one of my patients for physical health appointments or investigations - we always get funny looks from the general nurses because we're sat down just chatting with the patient.

Yeah. I miss sitting. And coffee. In General you’re not allowed tea on the floor cuz again it looks like you’re not working hard enough. Psych I can do everything one handed with a cuppa.

we've got a coffee machine on the ward. Ive got a filter for when im called away elsewhere. That and endless cups of tea.

I am on my 4th cup tonight. It's what I do for screen breaks.

A person at work brought me back a massive chocolate brownie from lunch as they thought I was having a bad day (I am).

But I'm on a diet and can't eat it. Do I tell them, so they/someone else can enjoy it - or keep quiet and take it home and bin it?

Break off a small piece to discretely dispose of, then offer the rest around to others with the explanation you're on a diet so you only had a bit of it. They think you had some so still shows gratitude, but it avoids the whole thing going to waste also.

Just eat it, a diet is about the average over a few months not about being perfect all the strawberry floating time.

Someone in work just brought in one of those 12 packs of Krispy Kreme donuts. Our team is normally 11 people but today for various reasons there are only 4 of us in.

I don't think I'm going to be worrying about my diet this afternoon. :nod:

I'm doing a VLC Ketosis diet. So anything is a no no

I gave it to the cute guy in I.T. and told him to keep it quiet. Now we have a shared secret that will bond us together.

There is that other guy in I.T. though, he's got a bit more of an edge to him but at the same time I'm not sure he's as trustworthy. I always feel like he's hiding something:

Today I accidentally dropped my wedding ring in a clinical waste bin full of poop. I thought that would be the worst thing to happen to me during a shift.
