Red Bull half a second off the pace? Simply lovely mate

Edit, though it’s looking like Red Bull have just messed up their setup looking at it. Still, half a second off though

Don't worry, I'm sure the new mature, relaxed and calm max Verstappen will not cause a fuss.

I doubt he'll have the time to get stressed about it, alongside racing in F1 this weekend, he's also participating in a 24 hour sim race around the Nurburgring

Dare we dream? Might we have a race on our hands?

Not getting excited until quali, but certainly more reasons to be optimistic than almost every race in 2023.

What's with the stupid naming convention of this GP?

Just call it Imola FFS.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

For some reason they’ve decided to rename it after the region of Italy that the track is in rather than the city, Imola where it is near, which is the official name of the circuit. It was also previously called the San Marino GP despite not actually being in San Marino as they already had an Italian Grand Prix.

Can only think they do it as it sounds more prestigious? I personally don't know why they can't refer to the Imola race and the Monza race, both as the Italian GP?

Could it be that the local government of the region gives the promoters a lot of money towards running the event, rather than just being a local Imola thing?

I'd guess money is part of the name as well, as is the case in everything in F1.

Verstappen may have got pole but it's great to see McLaren and Ferrari closing the gap a little.

It was nice seeing him having to work a little bit for it.

One mistake and both Mclarens would have had him I think.

Good qualifying session, even if the result was the same as always, Piastri has been given a 3 place grid penalty for impeding Magnussen as well.

Remarkable turnaround from Red Bull and Verstappen, Aston Martin downgrades, Ferrari side-grades, Mercedes showing promise but ultimately show nothing
