If AVB doesn't go all out in this game (As in keep Torres, Bosingwa and Mikel the strawberry float away from it), we're so screwed. If we get a decent result then great. If not, maybe AVB will be sacked and we'll get someone a bit less stubborn. I really don't understand why he continues to play Torres centrally when he can't perform there and Sturridge clearly can. When you have Studge saying he much prefers playing centrally, and Torres is getting decent assists from the wing, surely giving them a game or two set up in this way is a good idea?

Because some of us aren't so bankrupt that we have to go into administration.

Although the concept looks like some kind of shopping centre, I prefer it to the recent boom of spaceship stadiums.

Doubt it. Our owner has enough money to cover it (he just bought the rugby club so isn't bored of sport yet) and a big chunk of the new stadium is being funded by the sale of the old one to Sainsburys.

We will be fine money wise.

It's all been confirmed by the Council now, it's looking like we can finally get digging. Just a case of the Nimby's getting desperate. We've waited long enough!

Interesting point about Torres on the wing... Hadn't even thought of that. Long-term he has to play centrally. I like Studge playing on the right.

Thee main problem is that AVB wants to play 4-3-3 when Chelsea don't have a left winger. Mata isn't a winger and Malouda is too gooseberry fool and too slow.

In the summer I want Chelsea to being in a to quality winger or two (Hazard...? Di Maria?..... Robben??) and another striker when Didier goes.

I don't mind going for damage limitation this season. Go all out for CL next season and see how Chelsea do in Europe. Don't strawberry floating sack Boas though as it's obvious the team isn't there. Give him time.

As an aside, apparently Lampard had a massive row with AVB after the Everton game.

1st choice lineup imo should be

Reina Enrique Agger Skrtel Johnson Downing Adam Lucas Gerrard Carroll Suarez

2nd Choice
Doni, Aurelio , Coates, Carra, Bellamy, Henderson, Kuyt, Shelvey, Spearing

Aurelio should be let go and robinson or flanagan can be given a chance to develop
Carra should stay for one more season as experienced cover and help young coates
Kuyt should be let go cause he doesn't have the quality we need anymore and slows our play down
Shelvey out on loan if he's not being used
Spearing should be let go, he's an average player who is out of his depth.

New 1st team
Reina, Enrique, Agger Skrtel Johnson Downing Adam Lucas Gerrard Carroll Suarez

2nd choice
Doni, Flan or robinson or new LB, Carra, Coates, Bellamy, Henderson, New right winger, New striker, New LB/RB

So in the summer we need a striker, Right winger and a LB or RB as priority, if we can get good quality players in those positions we'll be improving.

Yesterday showed when you don't isolate suarez and carroll they are effective, so dalglish needs to keep playing 2 players up there and we just might get 4th.

This is only my opinion.

Um.. Kelly says hello?

For anyone interested an utterly fascinating interview with David Sullivan on this site. Only five of the eight parts are out so far, but he reveals a lot, Martin O'Neil and Upson don't come out of it well.

Sad to see Niall Quinn go. An absolute gent, and a true role model for children and chairmen alike.

It also shows what a completely different world West Ham operate in compared to the majority of the Championship (and the teams around them at the top). The amount of money Sullivan bandies about when talking about all the potential transfers he nearly pulled off over the past few months is still in Premier League terms.

If you don't get promoted, someone needs shooting. The amount of money you have makes it a no-brainer.

Not many teams are living within their means. We have a rich owner that is not likely to walk out on the club any time soon. We will claw money back through the deal with Sainsburys and the new stadium will bring money in.

And League One football is not a certainty. We are in trouble but still have our heads above water. Luckily we are not paying players £30k a week while being in administration for the second time.

Interesting read. It's a shame more people involved at the top end of clubs aren't more receptive to interviews like this.
