There's a disconnect between the passion and emotion in the characters' voices, and their facial expressions and body language, which are unmoving and indifferent. I have difficulty with it.

Oh, there is a thread for this.

I’m about 28% remembrance, 23% destruction. I absolutely prefer the story to the battles, but they still ain’t bad. Just needs a little imagination to transpose the tactical view to what’s going on in your mind, but the little animations help a bit.

The story though, strawberry floating hell, absolutely mind-bending time travel stuff. At first I thought the way it was being told was too abstract, but as I’m going through it, I honestly don’t think it *could* be told any other way. There is simply too much happening in a short space of time with all the protagonists intertwined stories that it would be impossible to tell linearly.

Extremely good though.

This looks good and I've loved most of Vanillaware's previous games but the combat put me right off.

You can mostly do it on autopilot, and when you have issued commands to your whole team it stops being real-time and it pauses when the next person is ready to act. I definitely wouldn’t say it gets in the way, it’s more that it’s just too simplistic.

It’s such a small part of the game comparatively too. I’ve been probably 12 hours story, 40 mins combat, but I’m about equally far through both.

Starting to wrap up the story in this. I have 4 or 5 characters up to 100% and off to the final battle.

Been lagging a bit behind with the battles for a while now, so I have a long stretch of those ahead of me but I actually don’t mind. I enjoy them a lot now, but the story is so compelling I’m only dipping into the combat when the story is blocked behind battle progress. They’re easy and quick even if you didn’t like them. I’ve S ranked every one with the bonus objectives on the first go.

About 80% through of most of the 13’s story’s. still not bowled over by the combat however, most of the story has been been very good indeed. I just can’t get over that this could be watched and I would get the same enjoyment out of it.

Decent game. Story gets a bit too crazy for my tastes and attention span, but I suppose nothing outside your typical anime insanity. Runs lovely on Switch.
