Apparently England can still end up moving pots. My head hurts.

No way I'm staying up to watch the final next year.

Doesn't matter who makes it.

The final is at 8pm our time.

After the group stages there is no game later than 9pm.

Yeah kind of. Apparently it's a late change to what was planned - why change now?

World football's governing body had the option of naming France, the lowest-ranked European nation, in Pot Two but decided instead that the one European team should be drawn at random.

The French president of Uefa, Michel Platini, expected to rival Sepp Blatter, the incumbent, for the Fifa presidency in 2015, is believed to have been the driving force behind that decision.

Oh. :dread:

Either way, it sounds like it's increased the odds for England of playing in a tough group. And this doesn't sound great either:

The seeded team in Group H will have a relatively easy first round schedule with matches in the milder conditions of Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

But the seeds in Group G will play in the intense heat of northeastern cities Fortaleza, Natal, Salvador or Recife.

The team that meet Brazil in the opening game - position A2 in the draw -- will face a 3,880-km flight to Manaus in the Amazon for their next match before a 4,508-km flight to Recife for their third game.

Any team surviving that probably deserves a place in the last 16 for stoicism alone.

Kickoff times could also pose a threat to a team's chances depending on whether they play in the humid north or the chilly south.

Jesus Christ  how is this even allowed?

I'm working Friday evening so will miss the draw. Might record it, I love watching the Euro and World Cup draws. :shifty:

I really hope France get bummed and get drawn in Pot 2 anyway, but knowing FIFA they will warm the draw ball so that does not happen!

This Guardian draw is addictive as hell. Just had one where Brazil and Uruguay finish bottom of their groups, and England beat Spain and Portugal on their way to losing a final to Argentina.

Just blitzed through twenty draws in a row in rapid fire - the winners it came up with were:

Argentina; Argentina; Portugal; Spain; Uruguay; Belgium; Argentina; Spain; Colombia; Spain;
Holland; Italy; Argentina; Holland; Argentina; France; Italy; Belgium; Germany; Spain

I no longer #believe :(

I'd like the following...

Spain - Can't remember the last time we played them in competition
Japan/South Korea - We've yet to play either in competition
Australia - For the bants

Did the Guardian draw twice. Germany won twice.

Excited to see the actual groups though. Can't wait to see the 'Group of death'. Fingers crossed for Argentina and Portugal in the same group.

Just done a load more. Nigeria won one, Croatia won two, but the majority were Argentina again. No England still.

I'm hoping England get a tough draw so that they have to play well from the off. Would like us not to face Spain or Germany, but anyone else is fair game.

I had a random Guardian draw yesterday where England beat Spain, Germany and Argentina on their way to the final, only to lose to Brazil :( I'm hoping for one glamour tie and two easy wins, and that we play the tough team first.
