That's what happens when you close your studios and turn the remaining ones into Halo/Gears/Forza factories :?

Well credit where credit's due, they did only roll one of those out today. Although my eyes did roll into the back of my head when they brought out another strawberry floating car on stage for Forza.

4/10 for me. A focus on XOX, but without any games really backing it up- I didn't care about the push to 4K/HDR even as an owner already- it's all about the games. But... they just weren't there, nothing exciting at least.

The constant BETTER ON XOX IN 4K HDR was kinda irritating- felt like TVTVTV all over again.

KK wrote:Left this conference more interested in the Xbox as a 4K Blu ray player than any of the games. Graphically I wasn't seeing £250-£300 worth of better in the X. It may be possible, but the games weren't showing it yet until the very end with EA.

Their current model plays 4K Blurays.

Disappointing conference. The highlight for me was the original Xbox backwards compatibility, which is kinda sad in a way. I'll pick up an Xbox One S at some point on the cheap primarily for the BC stuff and some of the exclusives I can't be arsed to deal with the W10 store for.

They are going to have to really show why a £450 Xbox One X is worth it when it plays exactly the same games as a machine you can get for just over a third of that.

I'd give it a 6/10 - not enough there to really get me excited about Xbox One X at $499 £449, and I want to see MS work on more big budget, exciting, graphically impressive, new IPs for their platforms.

Interesting Crimson Skies got a shout-out  There's nothing really like it any more. If people are asking for BC on the original game why not commission a new one? :dread:

My Xbox One broke in November and I'm still not arsed about bothering to get it fixed. No exclusives (or "exclusives") they showed off there made me change my mind.

Was expecting a knock-out re launch with a number of surprises but it didn't quite deliver as much as I wanted.

Metro was a nice surprise and looked fabulous (if suspiciously scripted).
AC:O looks lovely but still clunky.
Sea of Thieves looks like my kind of game but frustratingly released next year.
Anthem looked mind-blowing but achievable? Not sure.
Forza looked great (as was to be expected) and looks noticeably more 'real' in 4K.
I wanted more of "This is what game X will look like now on Xbox One X. If they had lined-up a long list of previously-released games and said, "This is now 60fps, 4K... and this one... and this one." I would have been happier.
I'm surprised there was no news on a new Halo / Bethesda game / details of CoD World War II One X features.

Business as usual, then. I love the Xbox brand and am happy that I'll be playing more on an Xbox console when the X is released later this year. I'm not, however, massively hyped.

Also noticed the clapping got progressively less emphatic as the presentation went on.

Sony sure have the upper hand with the price of Pro. They'll be £299 at most this Christmas against £449. That's a tough sell with Forza being the only graphical differentiator.

Yeah £449.99, which means we are actually getting it cheaper than they are in the US.

I'll probably get one.
